If SOS hated him why would he delist him then offer him the the chance to do preseason with the promise of being picked back up?[/QUOTE

I think you could of answered your own question. Or maybe the fact they thought they would see what else they could get their hands on just in case. I do not know how SOS mind works.

If you are fighting for your place on a AFL list do you think going to a music festival 3000kms away the day before preseason sends the right message that you are fair dinkum?

Did that affect the rest of his season and there is a lot more to that story that has not been released. With the amount of injuries we had last year and his VFL form being pretty reasonable why did he only play 7 games? Could probably ask Rhys Palmer the same thing.

Actually Carlton promised Boek they would redraft him which is why he stayed on at the club and kept training. An hour before the rookie draft deadline the club rang him and said they were going to let him go. Did not even give him an opportunity to look elsewhere.
Can anyone else confirm if true?

Could also ask why SPS was caught drinking during indigenous week last year and the leadership group wanted to discipline him and was told by SOS that he would handled it and nothing come of it. Like i said rules for some and rules for others.

Yeah, it doesnt look like you have to ask. The Commission can just award one or more PP's if they want to.
The rule is "Whatever the AFL commission decides the rules are", which doesn't lend itself to corruption at all. No siree.

As i said before mate they promised to pick him up which is why he still trained at the club after being de-listed . An hour before the end of the draft they rang him and told him they will not be taking him. Had no opportunity to look elsewhere as was under the impression he was wanted.
Very poor if true.

Surely a better player than Shaw.

Do you know where he played his football this year and if so how he is going?

Went to East Freo who is coached by Rob Wiley but he did his knee 5 mins in to round 1.
Sad, poor bloke, maybe SOS went to a fortune teller and got the news early.

I agree but i guess it more so pointed to the fact he was not meant to be drinking at the time and the leadership group were not happy how it was handled. Any way its old news now i guess.

I truly believe that certain players get favourable treatment on and off the field.

The fact that sos and weiters and a few others are allowed to work through their issues in the seniors while other players are told to do it in the reserves is proof of this.

If true, why is SOS the one to discipline players? Where are the coaches and leaders of the squad? SOS should be working on the list management, not making decisions on player discipline.

What? SOS has been dropped at least twice this year, and Weitering came back through 3 weeks in the 2s after he was injured.

SOS is the king of that club. Not many there if any have a say over SOS.

I meant sps (stupid autocorrect).

I don’t disagree with letting young players work through their issues in the seniors, it’s just that some are allowed to do it and others aren’t

What I heard is that they asked him to keep training and if things fell into place there was a decent chance he’d be rookied. Well they didn’t and he wasn’t. As for “promising” to pick him up, not so sure about that. Still to keep him swinging until the last hour is poor form.
