Had an awesome experience with uber in America, a young deaf boy we communicated on our smart phones, uber has given a guy like this an opportunity

Had other uber experiences in Melb all good, like MEB I have had some bad experiences with taxi's over the years one shocker when I was a teenager ...

Lol. The taxi industry has been shafting the public for decades.

Competition is healthy, unregulated competition isn't.

It'll hinge on what Kelly does though, because if he jumps ship I can see GWS significantly increasing any offer they table to Hopper and Smith.

If faced with the prospect of losing those three players, GWS might favour a trade of Kelly to Carlton rather than any trade of Hopper/Smith to Geelong. Why would you want to help a current top 4 team.

Our window is a few years away, whereas Geelong's is now while Dangerfield and Selwood are around. Anyway it's this crazy logic that keeps me hopeful that GWS will trade two of Kelly, Hopper and Smith to the Blues.

Any mods remember the Doggies poster who ignited the rumour of the 4way trade from GWS last year? Might be good to touch base.....

My partner works awkward hours and is often needing to get home from the city at 1/2 am after work. Uber has been tremendous for her. The amount of horrific cab stories and close calls before that was disgusting. The taxi industry is immeasurably worse than uber.

Totally agree. I'm pretty pissed off about this signing actually - I mean I get why people use them, and it's no doubt a shot in the arm for the club but it is 'dirty money' IMHO. I deliberately steer clear of Uber as they are shafting a regulated industry big time. CFC certainly live 'close to the edge' with sponsorship.

Regulated industry.. who's had a monopoly of the market for a long long time. Taxi industry didn't move with the new economic landscape, and now looks to be paying for this complacency / arrogance.

From my understanding, at least when you report something to Uber they look into it. Have reported MANY issues to 13cabs over the years...nothin'.

On top of that you have all their details, name, rego, bank (if needed thru uber), everything...shit people are shit people and they'll be driving cabs/uber working at child care centres you name it.

Uber is infinitely better than the taxi industry

Regardless of all these rumours, I still find it unlikely Kelly is with us next year.

Yep. An authorized monopoly breeds contempt for the customers and thats exactly how the taxi industry treated us for years. They got what they desrved and the smart ones(drivers) jumped ship to Uber years ago.

Plus he's exactly the sort of kid who would have called his manager before he even had a shower post game and in a huffy voice said "I'm not playing for those cheats take the deal from the Hawks". I would suggest that's not far from what happened tbh
