I know it's only a joke and between mates its ok, I've been giving and getting as good as I get as well between mates etc, but if you don't know them personally who knows what's going on in there life. Depression and image concerns can be triggered from many little things and to anyone, in the week we are trying to suppress this (are you ok) I just thought I would put an end to it, if something like that grows legs it could hurt him. Remember I said, 'could', I am not saying it will and 99.9% don't, but bullying is rife in society and if he can't get the chance to respond, I don's see it's merit.

Yep... he is contracted for another two seasons. Don't sign a contract you're not willing to see out.

Seems like the young players who barely have any runs on the board think they have earnt the right to move around like free agents (who have served their club for 10 years).

Club has to tell him to stop winging and get back to training.

GWS copping it from too many of their young players... would love to see them set an example and just go "Guess what, we have enough talent on the list so lets send a message. Absolutely no games for you, not even in the reserves. You can play all your games in the development squad (thirds) for the next two years""... then offer him a base contract (so that he doesn't become a delisted free agent) so that he has to delist himself (meaning he will have to go back into the draft so will be unlikely to end up at the club of his choices). This will put a big halt on the kids development, so his next club won't be willing to pay as much.

Fair enough GWS will miss out on a pick via trade, but it will send a strong message that these players are not in charge and that they will not be held to ransom. The next 20 year old with two years to run on his contract will think twice before requesting a trade.

We should pay overs for Carlisle. 23 yo AA, and go forward to pinch hit. Kicked 8 goals against Dogs last year. Can take a great mark, which is vital, see Harry Taylor. I rate him highly is tall enough and young enough to match the new tall 200cm forwards coming through. With him and Weitering once developed, we have a KPB for the next 8 yrs at least.

One other thing that's a bit left field, what do you guys think of McKay I loved him as a player, but to me when I hear him speaks he seems like he is from another world with his very well upper class vocabulary. I hope this isn't affecting players by feeling inferior due to his education and mannerisms. To be honest, I am a professional and even I hate listening to him, imagine some of the more easygoing players.

I know exactly what you're saying and agree, but it's the world we live in, racism is an even bigger issue but there's really nothing to stop it so it's probably better not to take things so personally, btw mlg is never going to read this so I'm sure he'll be fine Probably smashing a donut as we speak P.s no-one deserves to be bullied but I think and hope this was an innocent joke!!

700k/year...how much is Lake on at Hawthorn and McPharlin. I reckon when he's up and going he's just as good. Don't forget he's been distracted by the drug scandal. Another point on the the AFL will not allow the Bombers to get a big suspension, it will be monetary based as suspending the players will wreck the competition.

Thanks for the info, albeit a tad concerning for mine. If we are genuinely interested in a no quick fix rebuild as Trigg said to members in today's email, why would they even entertain Lobbe? The cheapest that he would come would be an early second round pick for a player who will be 29 by the time we even think about making finals. We are going to be rubbish for the next three years, so recruiting these mid to late 20's types serves little purpose, especially when they cost a decent draft pick like Lobbe will.

I think he would be a handy pickup because rucks is one of the positions where you really can't rely on the youngsters. They don't have the physically strong bodies to match it with the big boys for a full season and they take a hammering physically each week. Lobbe would allow a younger ruck that we draft/trade for to develop nicely in the reserves.

He didn't really say but I interpreted it as Collingwood would do us a favour by offering Kreuzer enough to allow us band 1 compensation at least.

May also mean we get the others spoken about like Plowman, Phillips etc but again they were not mentioned specifically.
