Threaten that will just pick him back up in PSD.

Bombers will take him in the PSD if that was the case. No way would he fall to geelong in the psd

That's what I was thinking.

Back in 2006 when we couldn't get a trade done with Hawthorn for Thornton, Pelchen said that he was very confident that they could get Thornton in the PSD but as we had the number 1 pick they didn't stand a chance and he re-signed with us the next day.

Let's be honest here, we can't be any worse. If they try to play hard ball assuming we're desperate we should give them the finger and move on. We don't owe Henderson anything.

A second rounder is essentially worthless in this draft.

Agreed. Id rather nothing than Walker and a second rounder. Lets show the other clubs that we aint copping it....and let it be a warning to all other players who pull on our colours. Do us no favours, and expect the same in return.

To be fair... hendo may have done favours

We are fools if we let Hendo go for less than a first rounder.

- He has left, presumably because he has been given confidence Geelong will deal.

- His manager on SEN declared he was worth between pick 6 and 16

- If no deal is done, he ends up in Brisbane, which is a helluva long way from Birregurra.

The pressure is on him. He needs the Cats to deal. We are in a great position here and need to hold firm.

Regardless of my initial feelings about SOS, he hasn't come into this club to be bent over a barrel to be........................

SOS, Trigg and the club are being shrewd in their maneuvering of things leading into the trade period.................and the they're doing it well, for now.
Lots of red tape to get through when you're muscling up to the premium suits at the AFL, but you have to play the game and..............so far, so good.

Lots of games to be played and dodgy offers to be made before any serious deals are ready to be struck.

Enjoy the ride.

You'd hope that a guy who's been in football his entire life and succeeded in every position knows what he's doing... but we've been hurt before

A player cannot be traded to a team against their wishes. If he has his heart set on Geelong and only Geelong, we may be bent over a barrel in the same way that we are hoping to do with Carlisle and Essendon*.

Squash the talk that we would pick him back up in the PSD because that would never happen. You don't keep a player who doesn't want to be at the club, that's just cancerous to all the other players. We have no position of power with the Hendo trade, which is a stark contrast to the position we have with Yarran.

Hey Bombers, let's send Carlisle and Henderson to the PSD and pick them up from each other. We get Carlisle and Hendo gets 'rewarded' for not putting in this year.

List manager at GWS would have been one of the easiest gigs going around.... going fishing with grenades.

This will be a FAR greater task. Jury out on SOS for me.

GCS had a similar opportunity. ... look how that turned out

If Geelong have committed to Henderson to bring him on board , they are obligated to get a deal done .
Depends how ruthless Silvagni wants to play , he just might find himself a long long way away from Geelong ... back in Queensland !!

Not sold on Josh Walker. I guess it depends on Bolton's plans for Watson but I'd rather play Jaksch forward than recruit an upgrade on Liam Jones.

No chance we could ask for Thurlow instead?

I'm confident that Carlton wouldn't contemplate taking Walker as part of a Hendo trade. They already have Jones as living proof that hack forwards will more than likely remain hacks.

Carlton will want draft picks. It's up to Geelong to find a pick that's in the 10-20 range otherwise I have no doubt the Blues will walk Hendo into the pre-season draft. There is no way they want to back up last years disastrous trading with more players leaving for unders. It won't happen!
