Under no circumstances should Carlton be accepting "steak knives". Players who can't get games at other clubs aren't what we should be chasing. We should demand a first round draft pick for Henderson from Geelong or whoever puts their hands up and if that doesn't happen we should trade him to Essendon for Carlisle. Keep our PSD pick up our sleeve for another player we can get to walk to us. Fringe players are the last thing we need. We don't need tall players, we need good tall players.

A player cannot be traded to a team against their wishes. If he has his heart set on Geelong and only Geelong, we may be bent over a barrel in the same way that we are hoping to do with Carlisle and Essendon*.

Squash the talk that we would pick him back up in the PSD because that would never happen. You don't keep a player who doesn't want to be at the club, that's just cancerous to all the other players. We have no position of power with the Hendo trade, which is a stark contrast to the position we have with Yarran.

Henderson for Walker & a 2nd rounder is a joke. This is how we got into this mess in the first place, by making deals like this.

Having said that I'd probably take Henderson > Cats, Carlisle > Blues, Walker & 2nd rounder to Essendon.

Geelong are kidding themselves if they think WCE will take a 3rd rounder (pick 45 I think) for S Selwood. They will want their 2nd rounder at pick 26 for him which means they couldnt use that for Hendo unless they pick up another 2nd rounder from somewhere else. Its gonna get messy I feel.

Maybe a pick upgrade for us from 19 to 9 for Hendo? We went for Jaksch for pick 7 downgraded to 19 (plus Whiley) and they were both speculative picks. Hendo is proven.

The trade they are offering is a joke and an insult but what can we really do if they don't up their offer and he's dead set on getting to Geelong? Either puff out our chests and say we will not accept any less than a first round pick and then cave in on the last day or let him walk to the PSD to show clubs that we won't be bent over. I prefer the latter but it's not ideal walking away with nothing for a player of Hendo's quality. It's a shame players can't be traded to clubs without consent because it's meaning clubs are being comprehensively screwed over.

Don't discount Fremantle and the Hawks putting in offers. McKay has already stated we'll be doing what's best for the CFC re: his trade. If someone comes up with an better offer, they'll then need to pitch to Lachie to get the deal across the line. Geelong needs to cough up their 1st to straighten up their spine and their new CHB.

The other thing is what do we trade for Carlisle and Plowman? 28 might be ok for Plowman but one of Yaz or Menzel will probably have to go for Carlisle. (I think Carlisle to the PSD is very unlikely as much as I would love to see it)

There's been so much disappointment here over the last five years, starting with CFC supporters claiming Sam Jacobs was worth a first rounder and then being disappointed with what Swan and Icke delivered. And we were right.

People are getting pretty upset over a rumor posted by someone with a horrid record of rumors. RL also said he had heard from insjde the club we were happpy to let Hendo walk as it means we'd get first round comp as he is a FA.

We won't be settling for guys like Josh Walker.
