Not so sure... in hindsight the game had passed MM.

Buckley was a singularly impressive high profile assistant who would have got a senior gig elsewhere fairly quickly.

Succession plan had a lot of merit in terms of treating MM with respect and grooming Buckley for the job.

I think it's fair to say some poor list decisions have been made rather than the initial appointment was poor. (Admittedly probs driven by figjam)

I'm just not convinced on either of them. Patton i don't think is mobile enough and i'm not sure Tomlinson can make the jump from NEAFL to AFL.
