So Humphrey not going anywhere this trade period.
Definitely wants out, but not happening this year.
As Soapy V has been saying all along, these deals set us up really nicely salary cap wise for a massive charge at the Humphries and Butters types.

I like it. Now let's just hope we have a solid season and make them see something worth coming to.

Interesting - manager just had a crack at Craig Cameron

Not the best relationship between player and club
Yup, thought this interview was just made to mend the cracks between club and player, I'd argue it's done the opposite.

Agree. Also need to look at what does Hayward bring as a package and not just look at goals kicked.

Curnow and Hayward have both played 9 seasons of football, and comparing their outputs over this period Curnow has:

Played 149 games to Haywards 184.
Kicked 313 goals to 229.
Kicked 201 points to 134.
Been involved in 80 goal assists to 81.
Had 450 i50s to 331.
Laid 238 tackles to 514.
Had 23 clearances to 75.

Hayward brings a lot to the forward line, may not kick as many goals as a stay at home forward - probably because he’s working hard laying tackles up the ground and creating opportunities for his teammates.
That tackle part is huge. We’ve effectively played a man down when the ball hits the ground and doesn’t land directly in Charlie’s hands.

His second efforts have been atrocious and undermine any attempts at pressure from our other forwards. It only takes one loose defender to create an overlap and make would be tacklers ineffective.

Even big HOK looked way more determined and way more likely to lay tackles when the ball hit the ground in the last couple of rounds. It’s the kind of standard that can shape someone like Ashton Moir who will either see second efforts as optional like it is for Charlie, or the minimum acceptable standard to be picked each week.

If this was meant to be the offer that blew us away they were right. Bent us over and blew our backs out… far out. I don’t even want Charlie at the club and I wouldn’t take that. Only way I’d take that is if we are paying none of Florent and Hayward’s salaries.

Surely the 22 is just posturing so we take what they really want, which is the two first and the two players. Allows us to save face publicly too.
My thoughts exactly, classic posturing!
We say **** off 22 is off limits, they say ok we will settle for what they are happy with and we think we got a little something extra which isn’t the case….

They need 22 to match academy bids. They have three kids, one who may go late first round. If Rowbottom is refusing to move, they have to get points somewhere.

If we aren’t going to go fishing with 10 and 11, we can survive without 22, but would insist on their 32 and an F2 back from my POV. They may need a bit more for their academy kids, but that becomes their problem.
