Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

The two can exist at the same time.
We need 22 not for players in the draft but flexibility to get Dean and Ison

I am no way wanting us to trade anything with Charlie.

Happy with that deal of that's what it ends up.

Think we could get better. But I just want to move forward and be done with talented players who aren't committed
Scratch that.

We need pick 22 for points matching unless we have a big deal lined up to get us those picks

Meanwhile our other Coleman winning KP forward has a history of head knocks and has had challenges with Mental Health (which can be linked).

Lot of eggs to put in the Harry basket, is he happy to be the main man? What's plan B if he has another severe concussion?

This is giving me the Cinderella's!

"If we take some time to think it over, baby
Take some time let me know
If you really wanna go
Don't know what you got 'til it's gone
Don't know what it is I did so wrong
Now I know what I got
Just this song
And it ain't easy to get back
Takes so long"
Let's just hope its not yet another Long Cold Winter.

Is this their 1st official offer? If so, it won't end up being that, but there's no way I'd pull the trigger with 22 going back to them.
A pick in the 40s-50s maybe, but I'd still be pushing for the deal with no pick going back.
If Swans get Charlie and kick on to top 4 next year, their F1 ends up being close to our 22 this year, so they effectively cancel each other out.
At least things are moving, but this isn't the deal we settle on.

Sounds really bad like that.

On the other hand, we might be replacing a 65 goal a year forward with a 40 goal a year forward (Hayward).

AND getting a solid HBF with good ball use (Florent), which we badly need.

AND getting a first round pick to get us half of Cody.

AND maybe something else.

Losing Charlie for multiple lesser parts may not be a disaster when you factor in the total impact to our list.
Please explain to me why when I woke up this morning and read of Syd.'s proposed offer of Hayward, Florient and 2 draft picks for an intergenerational player like Charlie, doesn't really feel like a 'win' ?

Our counter offer should be to give them Mitch McGovern instead of Charlie Curnow

Agree. Also need to look at what does Hayward bring as a package and not just look at goals kicked.

Curnow and Hayward have both played 9 seasons of football, and comparing their outputs over this period Curnow has:

Played 149 games to Haywards 184.
Kicked 313 goals to 229.
Kicked 201 points to 134.
Been involved in 80 goal assists to 81.
Had 450 i50s to 331.
Laid 238 tackles to 514.
Had 23 clearances to 75.

Hayward brings a lot to the forward line, may not kick as many goals as a stay at home forward - probably because he’s working hard laying tackles up the ground and creating opportunities for his teammates.
