I reckon the best I saw at the Sands was Lemonheads.
Jealous! Circa what album roughly?

the Huskers and Sugar are the first things I put on my iPod when I got it. It is traversty that Nirvana did a cross over from indy obscurity but the much more talented and original Bob Mould and his Bands never did - no justice
****ing word to that.

Zen Arcade is amazing and would be amongst my top 5 albums of the 80s. New Day Rising and Warehouse would also be right up there. Love Copper Blue as well.

This is probably my favourite track of theirs and one of the best tunes of the 80s. Features all things I love about the band such as THAT ****ing guitar tone, Bob's emotional vocals and screaming, his angst-ridden lyrics (before angst-ridden lyrics were used to fill sports stadiums with trust-fund kids), the loud-quiet-loud/fast-slow-fast song structure and Grant Hart's tight yet ferocious drumming. All in a punk rock song. In 1984.

For some reason I can't see any of those embedded vids, evo. Just get a big white box with a little kinda photo icon in the top left corner? Bugger.

I was just comparing the original and his interpretation. I mean, it is only a little over a minute long but to me it speaks volumes to the value of,not only Husker du, but late 80's and early 90's indie/punk I reckon.

Hope this helps mate...

As far I'm concerned they barely made a bad song.

There are very few bands you can say that about.

Flip Your Wig is the only album of theirs that is hit and miss for me. The others are great albums.

Brief thread hi-jack:

Was this the Lemonheads tour, CS?

Sound quality is poor, but I love that track (Out). Making a fine racket here:

You a fan of The Wipers? Like Husker Du and the Lemonheads, another one of those bands that bridged the gap between punk and the alternative rock sound that would dominate the late 80s/early 90s. Youth of America is right up there with Zen Arcade for mine. Waaaaay ahead of it's time.

Title track ****ing slays. Since the first time I heard it, that riff has never left me.

Great mate. I've done my dash with the bandwidth nazis this month (downloading old 60's Batman episodes of all things) but in a week or so when my clock's reset I'll be checking them out.

Cheers, Ghost.
