I agree with the second sentence. IF.

Such a trade may get us there while Fev and Juddy are still in their prime.
 
Bock, Bock, Bock, Bock. Sounds much more like a Chicken than a Crow.

In all seriousness, this guy is a fair footballer and if the price was right he'd be a decent pick up. Not quite worth losing our shirts over, but if he's lost his way at the Crows another club (like ours) might be just the tonic to revitalize his career.
I reckon he'd be worth a two year contract, to help out, as our young up-and-coming back men fill out their guernseys a little more over the next two or three seasons.

A lot of people seriously overvaluing Bock's trade value. He would enter the 2010 season as a 27 year old which would reduce his value. Anyone thinking we would package a player like Walker or Waite PLUS our 1st round pick need to have their head read!!!

If Gibbs was involved they would need to include their 1st round pick (which would never be in the top 8 picks due to them rarely being in the lower end of the ladder) at a minimum.

If we were to swap Russell for him we might need to throw in our 2nd round pick for example.
 
I reckon we offer them Gibbs AND Murphy for Bock. We cant leave anything to chance.
 
People are being hysterical in this thread. Only one person has said they would do the Gibbs trade for Bock, a 1st rounder and another player, and people are acting as though a few are saying it.

I myself played devil's advocate and said that the Crows would want Gibbs and even if Gibbs wanted to go back home, we would be wanting more from it.

Mentioning Gibbs does not mean we are all willing to trade him. It's called a discussion and doesn't need the dripping sarcasm flying off the keyboards.

Truth is, Bock is an AA CHB and he can also play forward, add him and Waite to our team and we are looking very stong for 2010/11/12

Obviously IF Adelaide were trying to offload him, we may be able to get him at a bargin price.

I have no idea about Gibbs desires of where he wants to play footy for the next 10 years, but we do know he tried to remain in adelaide under the father son. Obivously Gibbs will have alot of $$ thrown at him from GC and the SA teams over the jorney and we will have some upcoming salary cap issues when Kreuzer, Bower, Grigg, Jamo, Murhy etc start demanding what their worth.

IMO IF Adelaide are trying to offload Bock at seasons end and IF there is any doubt surrounding Gibbs intentions to stay a blue for life it would be a good opportunity to get not only fair compo for Gibbs, but even put the trade to our advantage.

Eg. Bock, Otten (a certainty to play 200 games) and a draft pick/upgrade/another young player for Gibbs is an even deal IMO. This would ease cap space as Bocks salary would begin to decline as our youngsters start to request top dollar.

It would be a massive shame to loose Gibbs, but IF we are going to anyway (I have no evidence he wants leave besides him always hugging Adelaide's "suits") ,we may aswell be proactive about getting fair/in our favor compo. We don't need any Karma for the Judd deal!

cmon guys, that remark on tv was nothing but a case of nerves on tv, gibbsy doesnt seem to be all that comfortable infront of the camera and i dont think he was thinking straight when he said that

Four goals is not a bag. Geelong have had players kick three or four goals against them in 9 of 11 matches this year and no-one complains about their defence.

Bradshaw is an awesome player, Roughhead was in a shootout (remember, Fev kicked eight as well) and Le Cras, who is averaging four shots on goal a game this year, got lucky and pinged six straight.

The only way this would be a good trade is if 2009 was a shit draft year, like 2003. All indications are that it isn't.

I agree with no trade for a number of reasons, but Bock is not the best defender in country and Gibbs plays many roles depending on the opposition............and don't pretend you wouldn't have Gibbs at the Crows in heart beat, like we would have Bock if he was 5 years younger.

WHO SAID HE WAS EVER LINKED TO CARLTON?

The OP heard a rumour about Adelaide considering the prospect of trading him and then asked if we would be interested in him and what we would have to give up to get him. Surely having disscussions about topics like this is fair enough.
 
Oh...this is obscene, I know the average age here is something like 14 :rolleyes: but do you people know about atrophy.

Lets do all of these kinds of swaps and have a depth no deeper than our starting 18. When was the last time it went the other way? I'm thinking the Mesozoic.
