There is a reason that we are know as the worst club to deal with during trade week... And the reason is...because it's true :)

We swear there's nothing wrong with Gary Moorcroft. Nothing at all. No sir.

anyone who doesn't vote mid deserves to be tied down and slapped by every single bf member out there
Really?

Watson Howlett Zaha Heppell Stanton Myers = clearcut best 22.
Assuming we need basically, 10 midfielder-ish guys in our 22 - that gives 4 spots fought out between Hocking, Browne, Melksham, Kavanagh (remember him?), Colyer & Lonergan/Lee/Prismall/NLM etc

To me, the issue is more getting the good young midfielders up to speed & into the side. Not necessarily getting more of them. We're not losing anyone crucial over the next 2-3 years.

I agree with your comment about having a lot of midfielders.
But we do not have enough inside mids. We need another 1 or 2 to help out with watson.
Howlett has really impressed in this role, and myers is starting to show signs that he can develop into it. But after that we fall apart.
Zaka, stants, heppell are all great outside mids. Hocking is a tagger. As for the 'kids' Melksham, kavanagh, browne, lee, we need to get game time into them. But when we do this, we start to fall away from the better teams in the competition.

See the bolded as a necessity, for the good of the club over the next 5 years or so. They need to learn the physical intensity & the running required & where they fit in the zone and they need to learn to work together.

If we're not going to throw them in, then who we draft isn't going to matter.

We will suck a bit, but for the first 8-10 weeks of next year we need to work on this next generation of midfielders. As the year wears on, we can start to hone in on our best side. Aim to push up as we go on, not go the other way.

Added benefit is the 'depth' guys (whichever of them are kept) will be fresh, rather than worn down, and should be more able to have an impact.

EDIT: We certainly do not have enough guys with exposed form as inside midfielders. That's as much about selection & injury histories as actual drafting though.

I agree entirely with your comments.
I guess I was hoping for a premiership tilt before sooner rather than later.
The reality is that we are probably 2-3 years away to be 'contenders'

Not advocating a full 3 seasons of playing kids in virtually every spot, like Tigs/North/Dees have gone through - just more of a tilt that way. It won't necessarily take a massive length of time for the midfield to come good and improve on previous years' midfields in a big way.
