atm one of my sniper rifles which i got earlier has a very high chance to ignite enemies..

You definitely need to play a Hunter next if yu're lovin the sniper. I basically can take out everyone with a sniper now before they even know i'm there with mine.

I've specced up his sniper skill to the max and am getting one shot kills on...well you probably haven't come across them yet so i won't spoil it...but the biggest badasses in the game wearing full on armour and shit.

I think it actually tailors your special weapon finds to your class. Hunters get ace snipers and handguns....i think my current gun of choice has about 380 damage, and a 4x multiplier ignition chance.

i seriously can't believe how into this game i've gotton

it is the best impulse buy game ever!

just changing around your loadout trying to perfect it for your style and constantly finding new weapons along with being able to play through the game co-op with 4 ppl is just nuts!

i actually wish it was released in the middle of this year (in a perfect world) so that it could've gathered even more attention (like it deserves) and the full play til finished from me which it might not get due to MW2.

It's a real dilemma what to sell off ay. It hurts to sell a beauty gun that has served you well for ages because you find something better.

BTW i've found the rocket launchers to be pretty hopeless too, but i guess thats mainly because my character sucks at using them.

I imagine Brick is pretty good with them

you see i'm not so sure it does.....because everyone else i play with...while they were by themselves they seemed to find all these awesome elemental weapons while i was stuck with just normal stuff....

not to mention the main weapons i find are either snipers or revolvers/repeaters...with the odd shithouse smg or combat rifle.
i still don't have an awesome elemental smg yet which is what i've been waiting/searching for. (:()
while kerrby on the other hand who is a soldier has had a really good one since about level 12.

btw your sniper rifle sounds nuts damage wise
i think the super power from mine comes from the sirens upgraded element damage in the skills stats page and the rare stone that gives an extra 40% damage to fire....it is seriously like nothing i've come across yet! (perfect combination of everything the siren has combined)

king elvis found this weird ass alien type weapon out of the blue
it does over 600 damage and shoots these weird shock ball looking things....
even though i'm pretty sure he doesn't like it, it's still a pretty cool find which i'm sure is worth a decent amount of $$$

Yeah i have an alien sniper, it's made out of bone...really odd. Shoots energy forks, doesn't use ammo, just becomes discharged after 5 shots and needs to recharge. It's good...but sorta annoying, bullets work better.

Interesting point re tailored weapons. I found a detonating SMG not long back, it's pretty deadly, sorta never get close enough to use it much tho.

My skill mod increases sniper accuracy by 85%, eliminates sway and ups the crit chance with snipers. I have another mod in the inventory that has +4 health regen...handy to equip that sometimes.

Oh another interesting weapon i found the other day was a revolver that regenerated revolver ammo at the rate of about a bullet every 5 seconds.

haha god we're nerds.

listen to how we talk about this in game stuff :o:o:o

i don't care though coz it's freakon wicked :D:D:D

It'll be sad in 10 days when MW2 comes out and no one will focus on this game anymore.

Does anyone have any good Combat Rifles they wanna give me from the PS3 version?

I found a 520 damage rocket launcher you can have in exchange.

**** I am so addicted to this game it is ridiculous. Yesterday arvo a mate came by so we can play some more co-op, I had just been playing some single player.. as had he, then we cranked through this co-op game we have going and got up to level 18. Time completely disappeared. It is such a brilliant game on co-op, definitely harder as I encountered tougher enemies.. and we got into some pretty crazy battles at times.

Agree that it should have come out earlier, this would have been perfect a couple of months back when there were no decent new games to play.

I love the sniper/hand gun combo with my Hunter that I'm using in single player, can take out enemies before they get to close, and when there is a group of tough ones I get some early hits in to weaken them then charge in and finish them with either a handgun or shotty.

I am Brick in the co-op game, his fists are brutal when using the special ability up close against creatures but it is not so effective against raiders or enemies with guns.. but my mate is the soldier so he just drops the turret. I found a rocket launcher too and it is not too bad with Brick but not really my weapon of choice as it is a bit awkward.

yeh that was an awesome session before

it works really well with the long range power and up close smg action especially since you're a crack shot and that sniper i left for you is so ridiculously good for our level (i shoulda taken it ;) haha)

That rifle wasn't bad, but I ponied up about $20k and bought a kick arse one from the weapons vendor - don't have the stats on hand, but it's something like 230 damage, plus 150% crit, 5 rounds in the mag with very quick reload time and 94 or so accuracy.

I use that as well as a 'specialised' rifle, depending on who we're fighting - so corrosive one against enemies with shells (like the fireants), or an exploding/igniting rifle against normal people.

We've got 4 weapons we can quickload now, so often I'll unload the specialised one, then switch straight to the normal awesome one, then switch to an assault rifle and close in, then go SMG or Shottie up close. Plus throw out Bloodwing a couple of times who normally smashes people pretty hard.

I just levelled up to 25 last night though, and I found two revolves worth over $5k each; one I think did 330 damage plus a bunch of other stuff, so I'll probably start pairing them up with my rifles.

Camo & I had another quick game last night (Kerbz wtf is your godamned internet unshaped; because you lag your balls off atm), where went and fought King Wee Wee. We actually died a couple of times just outside of his mine and we had no idea what killed us - we almost had 3-4 explosions hit us at once, and it completely ****ed us; weird, considering earlier we played for hours and did harder missions, and I don't know if we even died once?

But yea, we smashed King Wee Wee with absolute ease. The combination of the girl and the Hunter is badarse; especially as I've loaded up my sniper skills pretty hard and now have really effective weapons, so I'll quite often sit back a little with Camo (whose a pretty good sniper too), then I'll headshot a few of the tougher enemies, Camo unloads his sniper rifle too, then I'll generally reload and go again while he charges in and start caning them, depending upon the nature of the land I'll then either follow him in or just sit back and keep pinging them.

I really like how the different weapons and their effectiveness varies massively against different enemies. Means that you can have an absolute beast of a gun, but in certain situations, it's useless compared to a pretty cheap/weak gun that has the right specials.

Very rad game - can't wait to play some more later. Bloody addictive.

What skill path are you going down? Have not played hunter yet but I am pretty keen to try to level the rogue path so I can get the bloodwing to attack multiple enemies.

Mainly sniper, but with a bit of love to Rogue as well; I'm in the third tree of the sniper one, and the second of the Rogue one.

Bloodwing is really, really lethal when you start to put points into him; plus I've got the element which sets him on fire and does some other shit. I've also got a Hunter Mod which would make Bloodwing even more awesome, but I've got a really good sniper mod (damage/reload/crits/accuracy/-sway etc) which I prefer to use.

I should be uncapped now Kingy.

I beat Mad Mel by myself, it was pretty difficult seeing he is higher level than me. I had to take him out with a sniper lol.

Doing some missions for crazy Earl. I'm currently level 23 or 24, can't remember.

Nice - don't do too many though; Camo and I only ran off and did the King Wee Wee mission because it was pretty easy - tonight we can go through and do the proper maps.

I'm surprised at how keen I am to get home and play this :o I want to load up those two badarse revolvers I found and have a loadout like this;

Sniper
Sniper
Revolver
Revolver

And see how much damage I can do in close with the pistols.

Couple of interersting boom sticks i found last night

02112009291.jpg

Interesting stats, but it was pretty friggin useless. Fires these slow arse energy balls and the enemies move on before they arrive at the target

But this....

02112009292.jpg

This thing is an absolute beeeeeast. Glad i found it because check out the cost!

Huge damage and a 3x corrosive multiplier. Usually i don't use the smg's much because it involves getting up close, but this thing has a 4x scope on it too, and its slowish fire means recoil is no probs. Once you get some corrosion chain reactions going off on a target, the green numbers are coming off so fast you can't read them, its just a green blur

That actually says "OMG" in binary :D.

Just went back and did some of the old missions from Fyrestone. Now I've completed all of that and got a trophy. I actually prefer the areas of like Fyrestone because it's all open and happy looking, plus it's smallish and I know my way around it. Then there's areas like Rust West area and it's all doom and gloom and I have nfi where I'm going.

New Haven is the best place to go though.

Tonight, there's a few missions around New Haven that I would like to do but can't be arsed doing them by myself. It sounds like a lot of work and I don't exactly know where I'm going.

Are SMG's the hardest guns to find good stats with? I'm finding nothing great. Snipers I've found numerous great ones, same with combat rifles, shotguns and Revolvers, but I don't want any of them, I want an SMG!

My current best SMG's are a 24 Damage, 88.9 Accuracy, 8.3 fire rate with a 55 clip capacity and x2 to cause electrical damage. Not bad from a far but up close it's not powerful enough to take an enemy out if they're rushing you. My other is 41 Damage, 72.8 Accuracy, 8.1 fire rate with a 46 clip capacity and x1 to cause corrosive damage. Again, not too bad but where are the beast SMG's? Am still yet to pick one up that I love.

BTW Mancey that 'OMG' weapon was just featured on IGN's Armoury video segment, showed Camo last night. It looks pretty powerful but only useful if the enemy hasn't seen you yet as it does take a ****load of time to reach them.

Good guns in general aren't easy to find HBK, it's pretty random i've found. As the game progresses tho, just through sheer attrition you'll find some good smg's.

I've chopped and changed through a heap, and now have a selection of different ones with different elemental powers. You'll find em, just be patient and use your other weapons while you wait. I had the same thing with repeaters, barely used them because they weren't much use, but eventually i found some killers.

Got the achievement for unlocking 42 spots in my backpack last night. very handy for having multiple types of each weapon class/shield/class mod for different situations. Find them claptraps

Damnit Mance, get a PS3.

One other thing - if you see something awesome at the shops, then buy it! I never bought anything to start with because I though the dodgy bastards were ripping me off, and they properly were - but I reached a stage where I had about $75k and only relatively good weapons/shields; so when a really good sniper rifle, an awesome sniper class mod and a really good shield became available, I bought all of them ASAP, cost me probably $40k, but I've already got back up to about $60k monies, and now I kick arse.

Oh and thanks for the email earlier regarding your availability tonight. :p

Yep...it's easier...more seductive.

Agree with you kingy re the shops thing. Wish i bought more of their gear. I now have a million bucks in the bank and for what? Good for nothing. If there's something cool there now i buy buy buy

As if. There's more of us so join us.

Camo, hutchie, roosterlad, kingy and I.

Anyway, I'm on $340,000 at the moment. I saw this awesome 750 damage rocket launcher with 4x corrosive damage and it was oly $11,000. Didn't want to get it though. I now have two alien weapons, they're not very strong and doens't last long. But if you hit them close enough it's pretty powerful.

+1

Slightly addicted to this game :)

Anyone else had this bug on one of the missions? -->In the sniper parts mission one of the parts isn't where the map says it is<--

Yep happened to me, then I redid the mission as a co-op and found the last piece.
