I struggle so bad with my run up a when I was under 17s I had it perfect that was 4 years ago. Now it's the worst it isn't fluent I stutter when I run in to bowl and get so worried about over stepping and about once every 5 overs I bowl a front no ball. I got 2 wickets this season that way and one bloke went on to make a ton and win the game.

So how do I fix this. Please give me ideas. We didn't train tonight so I couldn't work on it. Please help I am on the verge of getting dropped to B grade I don't want that it sucks.

Thank you!

having similar issues but to a much worse extent.
my front foot no balls can often be twice an over. i am always very close.
for me its just getting back into a routine and running in multiple times until you can get it right.

I am thinking closing my eyes and running back and get it going fluently that way without knowing how far I am or what not

yeah i find even if i take half a step further back, i just take longer strides to get to the crease which nullifies the step back in the first place.
im going back to the basics and bowling from the first line on the crease so its not an issue.
lost a sharp c&b to a front foot no ball :( (ended up flicking the ball at the stumps and running him out anyway but still)

This is what I did many years ago.

First off you need to do it away from a pitch. You need to practice running through the wicket. Do this by marking a spot in the outfield, walk or trot or stutter up to this marker then push off with your right foot (RH) and run through and bowl without looking down or worrying where your front foot is landing. Get a team mate to mark where your front foot landed each time. Once you have perfected where your front foot is landing then mark out your run up. Then use your marker as the pointer to where you will push off from.

I always had a couple of little steps before approaching the marker then pushed off with my right foot and away I went.

similar to the guy above, go into the middle of a field, or large area, get someone to watch where you start, close your eyes and run till you wanna deliver, get them to mark the point, do it 6-12 times and mark your landing spot. take the average spot and that's your new run up

It's a thinking problem that manifests itself in your stuttering approach to the wicket. You are so worried about overstepping the crease, but this is in fact a relatively rare occurrence (1/30 times you bowl).

I definitely agree with Skipper Kelly, as that's the approach that I took when younger and every time I make an adjustment to the length of my run-up (which is decreasing every year, along with my pace).

I know it may be a case of telling one how to suck eggs, but the only thing you should be thinking about when running in to bowl is what you are going to do, not what you shouldn't do.

Good luck
