Drops to #31 after teams above look for KPP. Ericksen is purely a ruckman. National Carnival didn't see him perform at his best. At 204cm he is just what Ayres needs to bolster the ruck with Hall.
I would not be a happy chap if this happened.

Great effort Bozza, thanks man !!

Didn't think Dunn would last to #16 though....

Before placing each bloke in order I thought Dunn would be Top 10. Many rate him highly, yet I can see him slipping due to the fact he is more of a flanker than a midfielder (at the moment anyway). Also due to teams above Sydney in the pecking order requiring talls over smalls.

This is one of the best ones I've seen so far. As usual there are a few I disagree on (Peel, Trotter and a couple of others should be lower, doubt Michael Johnson will go 1st round after getting overlooked last year).

Also - you described Dean Chester as a hard nuggety midfielder. In fact, he is a very skinny forward pocket who is VERY much an outside player and loves kicking goals.

Also I dooubt Mungara Brown will get picked up, wasn't invited to screening camp and didn't even win the Knights B&F - he had a very good year, but I thought he was a surprise winner of the Morrish Medal.

I've noticed a lot of people have Bonson at pick 44 - I have my doubts. Not on his ability (I was lucky enough to see him in a warm-up match) but on whether he will be a lot of work.

Peel is one I'm kind of already conceding defeat on. I know I placed him there etc but he should definitely go higher. I just have a feeling that he is going to be on of those that slip far lower than everyone expects. Why? A couple of reasons. Obviously he is very young. He also seems to be lacking in a couple of areas which may turn recruiters away - his decision making for one. Most of the time he will take a good option, but there are others when he can make a howler. (Please note this particular bit of info was given to me by another party).

Brown is one player I think will go as a late selection - David Rodan won two Morrish Medals before being drafted and is a similar sort of player. He would be a big punt but with a 4th Round Pick, it may be a punt clubs are willing to take.

Stiffy - I went with Ericksen for Pick 31 based on the fact that you will just about certainly take Hall with 14. When you think about how physically ready each of them are, Hall could step up almost immediately or within 12-18 months. Ericksen (as someone mentioned) needs 3 years in the gym.

Adelaide will see this as an opportunity to grab two quality young ruckmen, one being more physical and the other being a little craftier.

My god
I would have been stoked just getting one of them.
If freo pull that off it will be one of the best drafts we've ever had.

If someone said before I did this draft that Freo would get them I would have said the know SFA about the whole thing. After doing it though, it occurred that this is a major possibility.

I am not disputing the fact that we will most likely pick up Hall with pick 14 but the 2nd ruckman would be someone that can play straight away if needed and is still at the age of 25 or under.

I am just not a big fan of Ericksen. We already got rid of Ben Marsh and to me Ericsken is just a young version of Marsh.

OOOH AAAH Brent LeCras

Great effort bozza. Liked the way you named current teams with all your listings so us amateurs know where the boys come from.

But what about Kepler Bradley's other teamate Brent LeCras. Brent won the Simpson Medal and at 20 looks readymade for AFL. Think you are right about 11. Michael Johnson the Eagles definitely are light on for defenders. Michael has height and weight and played throughout 2003 with the big boys at the redlegs in Perth.

By the way 'bulletproof' certainly proved he is far from that with his premature defence of Sheedy over Davies. BANG BANG!

To be honest I don't know much about LeCras. For a bloke to be drafted at 20yo is unlikely. I named Josh Krueger in my draft, but he has invited to draft camp - so clubs are obviously interested in him. LeCras will probably be one of those blokes that just don't get to the big time despite dominating local comps.

Good to see you agree with me re Michael Johnson, as not many do :)

For the record Bozza, out of the top five you only got the first one right. Picks one, two and four are set in stone and Melbourne's first two picks are out of three players. That's all I'm saying, unzipped lips sink ships.;)

Thanks for your piece of **** contribution.

24 NORTH Jay Nash Central Districts
A similar fit to Jess Sinclair, although with greater finishing skills. Probably more of a midfielder. Very good kick.

40 NORTH Ben Cosgriff Murray
Yet another Bushranger gets a crack at AFL footy. His aggression and toughness is something that is needed with the imminent retirements of Archer and co.

Brock McLean, Lovely:D:D Go very nicely with Harris, and I think Laidley would love his grunt.

Jay Nash, don't know much about him, if he is anything like Jess Sinclair, I will be happy.

Cosgriff..sounds good..

Re Pick 13 this was one of the hardest picks in the entire draft, along with Sydney's first two picks.

No idea whether Sydney will be targeting midfielders or KPPs with their early picks - they need both. However, Barham has a track record of picking players who have been injured and have thus seen their rating fall slightly. And I doubt the Swans will be looking for anyone to make an immediate impact next year - recent drafting suggests they are prepared to take more of a long term view. With that in mind, wouldn't be surprised to see them going for someone like Morrison with their first pick, if he's still there.

Interesting point you make there liz. Morrison could be a possibility but I think they would be after more of a key backman rather than a forward. I think that if my prediction is right and Ryley Dunn lasts till Pick #16, the Swans will snap him up.

Never in doubt. Clearly the best available

YEP GOT THAT RIGHT

4 WB Fergus Watts Sandringham
Dogs showed last year they weren't afraid to take a raw tall at #4, this year they do it again to provide fans with tantalising thoughts of a forward line spearheaded by Walsh & Watts

MAYBE???BUT WITH WELSH MINSON WIGHT(LAST YEAR) AND *RAWLINGS MORGAN AND STREET A MIDFIELDER TENACE SYLIVIA WALKER DUNN CLARKE MIGHT BE THE GO
BUT I'D BE HAPPY TO SEE WATTS THERE

50 WB Josh Krueger Glenelg
Listed as a ruckman for the draft camp, but in reality not big enough. His strong contested marking and big body could see the Dogs take him as a potential CHB.

WHO?????? IF AND U THINK SO HERRINTON WOULD BE BETTER.
U SAY WATTS AT 4 AND DID U SEE THESE TWO PLAY TOGETHER
FOR VIC METRO????????

51 HAW Luke Herrington Dandenong
Fits in nicely at Hawthorn. Flashy, goalkicking forward who is very small but super quick on the lead. Could be one of those blokes who can just 'turn it on.'

Great job boz, some very interesting selections.

I'd be happy to see Sylvia, Walker and Bentick in the red and blue next year but i'd prefer Tenace to Walker. Good to see Alex Gilmour get gig too...I hear Brisbane are very keen thoughl.

No I don't. He is not accountable enough. In a game against Calder where Davis was his opponents, Davis ran lines off him all day long and was nearly best on ground. A bit too much of a 'one-trick pony' with too many negatives.

Bozza, we'll see whose top five is crap come November 22.;)

1 Cooney
2 Walker
3 Tenace
4 Ray
5 Sylvia/Bradley
Make no mistake, if Bradley is still available at 4 the Dogs WILL take him. However if he goes higher (which they are prepared for) they have shown a lot of interest in Faren Ray.

1 Cooney
2 Bradley
3 Sylvia
4 Ray
5 Tenace

1. Cooney
2. Walker
3. Sylvia
4. Ray

If the Dogs take Ray at 4 they must think he is going to be an absolute superstar. He is exactly the same as about 10 others on their list, good skills, too skinny and a downhill skier.
