Free Agency Brad Crouch [joins St Kilda as a RFA for pick 23]

He won't. I genuinely do believe he wants to stay - given his GF does not want to leave. This whole exercise has been one of seeing if Pick 2 was possible, and then if it wasn', giving him the terms he wants.

Crouch wants to stay, Crouch's GF wants to stay, Crows aren't getting anywhere near what they want and both St Kilda and Adelaide have respectively said they aren't trading/will match.

It's over, lol. This won't go on any longer, and you might even throw your hat in the ring again for Caldwell or chase Treloar
Nominating St Kilda as his preferred destination, negotiating and signing a contract with St Kilda makes you believe he wants to stay at Adelaide?
Righto.

The Crows actively pushed Crouch out of their club in an attempt to manipulate the free agency system. They read the market wrong. The market has spoken & Crouch is worth 4 x 600k which I believe is about right. Given his injury issues maybe 50k & 1 year over but you pay that to extract players from their existing club.

600k is really cheap. I would have preferred pick 2 but keeping Brad on that low a contract is a pretty good result
I honestly don’t think you are interested in keeping him. If you were this whole saga has been a terrible way of showing it. Crows got greedy and tried to force him out.

Righto.

You can believe what you want to believe, but no contract has actually been set in stone - hence the whole RFA process. There's no animosity between Brad and Adelaide, and they used their final finishing position as wooden spooners to see if they could eke out a ridiculously high pick for a player who isn't worth as much. They did the same last year with GC.

I'm just presenting to you the facts as they have been laid out. He only chose you guys to test the market. It's most likely that he probably always wanted to stay in Adelaide (as he's said numerous times) and knew that by accepting your offer it wouldn't trigger Band 1 - and the Crows would therefore choose to keep him.

I could be wrong, but there's no party that has come right out and said 'Crouch wants to play for St Kilda and will make every effort to do so.' He said himself a month ago that his preference was to remain at home - just on a longer contract. Once Adelaide matches, he gets his longer contract and the same salary and he's set for the next 4-5 years. He doesn't need to move now.
