Sorry if there is already a thread on Brad, I couldn't find one, but just wanted to drop in and really give this guy a thumbs up.

He has been an inside target for you guys 88 times, producing 36 goals. When you look at what he makes of his opportunities, he compares with some of the comps best forwards.

Seems modest as well, like watching him go about it.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

He's going extremely well. Let's hope he keeps it up. A captaincy could be in order. :thumbsu:

Cheers mate, glad to see opposition supporters appreciating Brad's work.

He's verging on elite at the moment and should be strongly considered for All Australian honours.

Him and Moloney would both be worthy captains of the MFC.

If he continues to play in a similar manner for the remainder of the season, I think it will be near impossible to leave him out of the AA team.

In some sense, it's a little sad that he hasn't received the recognition he's deserved due to the poor performances of the team he's been playing in for the past few seasons.

Make no mistake, though, he's an elite player and a gun of the highest order.

sort it by goals - he is currently ranked 7th in the race for the coleman... but then check out his disposals compared to the top 20~!

he is the type of player that no-one hates too

:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Thanks for the link. Jesus the stats just confirm what a year he is having: in addition to the above, he also has the most marks, inside-50's, rebound-50's and clearences, and 3rd most contested marks of the top goal kickers!!

:eek::eek::eek:

Gotta love his pack marks, and he's not a big guy either! According to Footy Classified he's in the All Australian team at the moment, and his form is only going up. Great year for a great player, here's hoping he'll get to 300 games!

He's been fantastic this year for us as he has been for the majority of his career!
A very much underated player,probably not by opposition clubs but by the media & most of the general football public!

He is our best and most consistent player. He should definitely be rewarded with an AA spot.

As for captaincy, he may have missed his chance. Junior may play on next year, leaving Brad too old IMO to take over. Grimes, Moloney and Davey would probably be the prime candidates. Although I'd love to see Col put his hand up as well. He would make a great captain IMO....

No reason why he can't play longer than most. He's incredibly fit and said himself how he barely feels any different to his early 20s.

For the AA team, they'll probably put Steve Johnson or (going back a few years) Shannon Grant in by default :(

I wouldn't give him captaincy though. Give it to Moloney who will have a few more years at the helm. I also have a preference for a midfielder being captain.

As for his stats, while they are very good (especially the contested marks and inside 50s) it's a bit hard to compare him with guys like Reiwoldt and Fevola who are obviously instructed to stay in the 50 at all times and obviously won't get as many possessions.

Agree with that point on stats MM, he's always been able to find the pill. Whats been so good is his ability to be so effective as our key forward as well. So consistent and flexible, a true great of the MFC. I also hope he makes it to 300, it would be sensational.

The best thing about Greeny is that he is almost the most selfless player on our list. Everything he does is fr the benefit of the team. If only we could have 3 Brad Greens, 1 back 1 mid and 1 forward. I hope he gets the nod as captain. The guy has 5 years left in him and would make a superb interim leader while the next gen gets settled. He will be playing out of the goal square when he is 35, injuries withstanding. Absolute champion.

Thank God For Brad Green

Missing out on the leadership group in 2007 was the wake-up call, and he's come on leaps and bounds ever since.

Interesting to contrast the career paths of Bruce and Green, Bruce had such a solid run of years in his mid-20s when Green was stagnate but how things have changed.

We have a Brad Green in the backline his name is Jack Grimes!
Don't think Greeny has five years left in him but i can see another quality three years left!

Great to hear that. And yeah, the way Greeny's travelling, as long as "fashion" doesn't override logic in selection choices when the time comes, he really has an excellent chance to be AA this year.
