I have to say he is pretty much our most important player and has been for years now. I didn't know how he would go against the hawks not playing for awhile. He played sensational and was one of the better players on the ground.

accidently put this as a roast when it was meant to be a toast.

I was thinking a roast was a bit stiff!!
All things considered and with the footy he has missed getting thru a full game and hopefully pulling up ok is what we are after...

For me he was in the play and showed his class with that big grab in the 1st quarter... he then handballed to chappy who was standing still from his knees... so there is obvious rust because he butchered the ball a bit and seemed reluctant to kick

I think that once he gets some match fitness and some touch back he creates a good dilema for us to have re: hawkins/blake

personally i think blakey has come along in leaps and bounds this year and doesn't really deserve to be dropped... he had my heart in my mouth running down towards the goals when he didn't know if he should take the shot or handball to stokesy.. and hell he nearly brought the house down with that snap that just missed in the last 10 mins!!

I saw the roast and was like WTF!, bit stiff, glad to see twas a mistake.

I think he was ok. Didn't expect him to set the world on fire which he clearly didn't, but he got into the right positions, his hands were still good, body looked in good nick and he moved around well all that let him down was his decision making. Another week or two and he will be back in the swing of things which is good news for all of us because his possibly our second or third most important player.

Played a part in 3 opposition goals. Showed he still has a lot to offer but definately looked rusty. Needs to kick the ball.

I wondered if he was under instruction not to kick because of his injury. Couldn't work it out otherwise.

Still fantastic to see him back.

How about a Sunday roast in celebration of his comeback ? :o

I was wondering that too, especially when we were streaming through the midfield and he got on the end of a chain of handballs, and instead of bombing long to the goalsquare, he just handballed to a teammate under pressure.

You could tell he was a bit rusty after such a long lay-off though, and that's something that will improve in time. I just hope he stays injury free for the rest of the season.

He's got until Grand Final day to get up to scratch :o

never thought I'd see the day Blakey was better than Ottens. Otto had a few good patches but was def rusty. He was important at the end but bugger me why he came off with only 30 secs left to play. I heard Bomber told him off for that.

His decision making was a bit rusty as to be expected, but generally a good game from the big fella. 25 hit outs is a good effort considering he would've had no more than 65% time in the ruck.
