I don't like to put a negative spin on a gutsy win but ellis's game tonight was....

Yeah he had a shocker. Got run down a couple of times early which set the tone for his game and got him on edge for the rest of the night. Dissapointing but a valuable lesson, has had an almost flawless pre season and would have come in with a lot of confidence. Sometimes , a lesson like this can be valuable - you're only as good as your last performance, cant rest on your laurels. Hes a good kid and Im sure he'll bounce back quick smart.

Has had one bad game out of his first 20 odd. Blokes a very good player but was a little slow to adapt tonight. Cotch was also very slow at getting into the game. He turned it over a lot and didnt really show anything like Cotch until the 3rd quarter. If it took the freak in Cotch that long to get going Ellis can be excused for now.

Horrible call saying he is soft after one poor game. Watch every game of last year, then come back and tell me you think he is soft

His worst game yet but hsrdly panic stations and the "soft" assessement is quite frankly laughable - save that criticism for Houli & Grigg.

Hmm, my problem with Ellis, and he does it all the time is that he rushes his possession. Only once he hit a target tonight and the rest of his kicks were all floaters. We can't have that type of play any more. The main reason this kid was drafted was to use his outside run and kicking ability. However, I rarely see it from him and it was non-existent tonight. Furthermore, he isn't really that great one-on-one. Not poor, but he gets beaten often. I get the whole thing that he's a second player, I think he'll be a beauty, but I am still a firm advocate that we should be playing the best available. I wouldn't expect less from the club. Thus if the club believes that Petterd/Vlad/Grimes could come in and benefit the team more than Brandon then omit him.

He's a little too soft in my opinion. May spend time at Coburg this year
WTF?! Did you see that contest in the forward pocket at Punt Rd end?? Put his head down and just smashed in knowing full well hard body contact was imminent. Ridiculous comment.

Best thing for this kid will be to play some games at Coburg at times this year if he struggles a little. Has had a massive twelve months and will have a fantastic career. By the way, what is he? 19? Guys like Petterd and Knights will ensure he gets the chance to have that down time.

Ellis is a fringe player with little up side IMO. No special skills. Not much on the left side. Not especially aware and drops the ball to kick from to high and this not a great kick. He needs a few years to make it and then I'm not sure he will.

Not as much as we should I agree , but hardly "rarely" - seen more than enough to suggest that it's not just another TAC Cup myth.

Really???

Personally think he'll develop into a great wingman in the future...only time will tell which one of us is right

jumped at shadows tonight. Seemed to be putting more perceived pressure on himself then the blues actually were.

He wasn't that bad but do expect better, he will get there. First game back, i mean come on cotchin only had 48% disposal efficiency. Everyone player had there own individual flaws tonight.

I don't know if it's the pressure on playing on the big stage but when recruits go into a club some of them might lose some of their abilities *cough* tambling
