Lol they do, every case someone gets off they say it’s insufficient force
Has there ever been a case under this system where a bloke was knocked out and they said insufficient force?

I'd be shocked if there was. If it's deemed as careless - I can't see why it wouldn't be - and a bloke is injured from it - he's suspended - it's pretty straight forward. Personally, I think it's a pretty good system - much better than the ad hoc vibe of it that used to be the tribunal verdict.

I am in the camp that agrees with Cornes, (f* me, I just said that) the contact alone is a free kick at best, the end result open to interpretation.

He will get rubbed out, imho. He did take his eyes off the ball momentarily and that will play a part.

No. Actually I wrote "terms used by the tribunal". Maynard has already been reported. You can go on a search for the terms in the guidelines too if you like.
Hopefully it doesn't get past the MRO and to the tribunal - that'd mean a grading of severe impact and a minimum of three weeks suspension.

It is referenced in the 2019 AFL tribunal guidelines.

“Striking: An offence of Striking has been added to the list of Fixed Financial Sanctions for striking actions with insufficient impact to constitute a Classifiable Offence.”

All of the above are articles that reference challenges to the tribunal or rulings on insufficient force.

I want to be clear here that Seedsfan is wrong and insufficient force has no place in this discussion in reference to Maynard, but it is a term that is used within tribunal proceedings.

It appears Kane doesn't understand the concept of "but for" either. Using that guy as some sort of support to your argument is not a good strategy. Rather than posting childish emojis and meaningless statements like, "absolutely nothing in it whatsoever", why not engage your brain and think through the matter using the tribunal guidelines?

The nature of the contact? Given the act to spoil was intentional the ensuing contact as part of that act makes it, at best, careless.
High contact? Yes.
Impact? Given he missed the rest of the game, probably high.
That is 2 matches
Sounds to me like if you take a specky and knee the opponent in the head, you're on a holiday for a few weeks.

Fair enough

If he gets suspended for that the game is dead. View attachment 1340107

The inside of his arm makes light contact with his head. Absolutely nothing in it what so ever. Everyone is making a big deal out of it saying he punched him he didn’t

Now that Kane has explained it....Bruzzy's sure to get weeks! Kane has never been correct about anything.

No. it's got to be deemed a careless act for a suspension. A specky or attempted specky doesn't get deemed a careless act. A big roundhouse swing at head height that smacks someone in the head does get deemed careless. It seems pretty reasonable to me.

He is getting rubbed out. No doubt in my mind. One or 2 weeks. Pretty pissed at him to be honest. We are already struggling with injuries down back & he lets loose with a cheap shot. Plenty will disagree. Plenty will be totally biased as well. I think Maynard is an awesome player, but that was not one of his finest moments.

Two weeks is what he should expect given the parameters. He’ll have to take his lumps.

He did nothing wrong. We simply must challenge this
