Just needs to kick long - if he takes his 10 metres and then kicks long he can get it a long way out. No doubt the corky hampered his short kicking last week. Quaynor is the best kick, but a bit unfair to give him this responsibility so soon - maybe in 12 months time.

Why the fu** is the worst kick in the team taking kick outs from full back, especially as he doesn't even play on the opposition full forward?
He's improved a lot this year, but comparing him to Darren Millane, jeez.
Have you been paying any attention this year? He's been a top 3 kick in our team

I've been to our past 6 matches so I've been paying a lot of attention. I just saw him kick a grubber to 3 opponents and launch another one into the stands.
I've also watched him kick floaters for several years.
Furthermore i don't care how much some supporters worship the guy, he's the last person who should be kicking out from full back.
As Neil Roberts would say, it's football stupidity.

Well your attention has clearly not resulted in any understanding. He's 5th in the whole competition for effective kicks and has a kicking efficiency of over 76%. His last game was poor on a few instances, but given he was still feeling the cork from last week I'm willing to give one of the best kicks in the comp a break

a modern version of the good old fashioned, no nonsence, Collingwood hardman. Love the guy, massive heart, super corageous, bleeds for his team mates, gets it done. Were questions about his tank and smarts as a junior but he has well sorted those doubts out. See him spending more time in the guts in a couple of years.

Will make you look silly when he wins the Copeland this year :)

Had a great year, but so did DBJ and Daniel. And Vlastuin. I can understand him not getting the nod too

The way they shoehorn mids in there makes it harder too!

Pretty stiff to.miss out on AA, but he'll probably be able to console himself with a Copeland later on.

There’s a lot of competition. He’s worthy but meh.... he missed out.

We got two players in the AA so that’s a great result.

I thought Darcy had been written off a month ago so glad the correct decision was made

As for Adams.... he’s highly unfashionable and one that could easily have been overlooked. As a midfielder they usually select the more high profile players with decent highlight reels. Again, very glad the correct decision was made.

Adams' inclusion is the only benefit to including big name mids on the forward line. Had they correctly picked a couple more forwards these big name mids would have been on the bench instead.

I was with you SM. I recall one poster, probably in Maynard’s first season, suggesting that his/her six year old daughter could play better. Will they own up now?

He was frustrating in those early games, but the coaches (who do know something) recognised the good that would come from pumping games into him. We are benefitting from that now.

The thing with Maynard when he was first drafted is that he couldn't run out of sight on a dark night.

He got things right off field (after a stern word from Pendles) and has legitimately improved year on year.

He's become an out and out gun and stiff as a board to miss AA selection.

Do you watch games with your eyes open?

Blind Freddy can see Maynard is an elite kick. Of course you're going to fluff a few in slippery/dewy conditions.

All the more frustrating when he stuffs them up because we know he’s better than that! Luckily he has removed that tendency from his game for the most part. Last start was a bit of a throwback to bad Bruzzy

His Disposal Efficiency according to Footywire is 77% - I'm taking that everyday of the week for a backman.
Please give me a backman that has never mess up a kick in - you're being very precious.
