It really seems like some out there cannot set aside the Collingwood hatred and look at the incident fairly, for what it was.
I feel like some oppo/media people are almost unwilling to listen to the evidence that is available and was presented last night.
AND the smear campaign against Maynard personally seems to be continuing on.

On van Rooyen was that his 2nd ban this season because was a swinging arm merchant last time.

You are also correct about Pickett there was real intent to hurt an opponent in that report but we were told because he never knocked him out all,s well it does not matter about intent that only matters when someone is concussed.

This irks me as well. If using an elbow was 3weeks suspension before considering impact I don’t think many players would be found doing it. Under the current system you are are just rewarding dumb luck, Pickett a prime example, and some players may think well I’ll do it anyway and I’ll be the unlucky one if impact happens to be severe.

The behaviour of Melbourne FC is consistent with a club which is hugely disappointed with its own performance. Another flag is slipping away, despite their talented list, and in desperation they are hitting out. If it wasn’t Bruzzy and Brayshaw, it would be something else. I don’t recall a coach commenting in this depth on a reported incident before, and Goodwin did it more than once and not just in the emotional aftermath of a loss where such behaviour is at least understandable.

I totally agree, but I suspect there’s also strong elements of care for the long term health of Brayshaw and the view that losing him was a potentially outcome altering loss. I’d hope Collingwood fly the flag if the roles were reversed with it toned down a smidge (Goodwin’s presser comments were the most jarring).

All this reinforces is that the AFL is as corrupt as FIFA, I have been saying this all along. People sfellow.

They dragged a player through the mud, to protect their own arses.

They are concerned about a Class Action, nothing to do with what Maynard did.

Have to say I was not happy seeing McGuire celebrating on that video after Maynard cleared ...after seeing how measured Howe was on 360 and Graham Wright afterwards and how they referenced Brayshaws welfare I suspect the club was very aware not to inflame gloat and possibly goad the AFL into appealing ..Its been so refreshing to have a new president who's very much in the media background and not bringing us unwanted publicity

hes an ex president and probably the clubs highest profile supporter ..he isn t just an anonymous supporter ..I would have gone about it the way wright and howe did ..humbly with reference to Brayshaw especially when it was unknown if the AFL was going to appeal

I retract this statement.

Whateley has only shown class and why he is the best caller in the game, since the correct result was made.

Credit to him for absorbing logic and projecting it in a positive light. Hopefully the AFL don’t appeal the decision which is likely to be the case.

But these words are from Peter Jess, a legal type who has some portion of brain matter but would prefer to let hysteria do his talking:
