So, for fun, I did my own personal breakdown from the stats that have been released,

There are 10,634,013 Males in Australia.
There are 10,873,704 Females in Australia.

However,

2,866,471 of those in Australia are between the ages of 15-24 (15-19 + 20-24).

Using the trend data collected from the whole population,

1,193,544 of those between 15-24 are Males.
1,672,926 of those between 15-24 are Females.

In Greater Melbourne,

There are 1,966,503 Males.
There are 2,033,479 Females.

552,944 of those in Greater Melbourne are between the ages of 15-24 (15-19 + 20-24).

242,782 of those between 15-24 are Males, and
310,162 of those between 15-24 are Females.

What can we gather from this? If you're a young male, like me, with an interest in young females and living in Greater Melbourne, you're in the right place.

Anyway, what has caught your eye? (FYI, this thread is more about fun and curiosity than anything else)...

Well I loosely use the term "nearly twice as many" haha

242,782 of those between 15-24 are Males, and
310,162 of those between 15-24 are Females.

Surely 310,162 is almost double 242,782...... right... right...

Where'd you get this one from? Seems out. The ratio of births of males to females is slightly more boys then girls. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_sex_ratio). It's at somewhere around 50 odd as the likelyhood of dying for guys younger is higher, that you'd switch into more females of your age range to chase.

Exceptions apply - cities the birth ratio is compensated for somewhat by country chicks wanting to get out of there, but areas with a wildly skewed female / male ratio in the ratios like above, for that age would be very rare. And if were single and found one, you sure as hell wouldn't tell anyone else
