Don't be stupid. When will a Crow supporter ever admit to something like that???
But the worse thing is, if it happened to be a Power player that committed this offense against someone, can you imagine the crap that would be going around on this board.

Not really, we would just say to ourselves " same old story" ;)

Cant say ive seen Rucci whinge too often about the crap he cops. He seems to thrive on it

listen to 5AA - if someone questions him he goes on the offensive and GC ends up pulling the plug when Rucci is being dismantled - happens quite often.

atleast our players dont rape girls

As I said in the other thread, funny how you all conviniently forget that a Crow listed player was involved with that incident as well.

I don't recall Michael every being on the AFC list. If you're implying it is who I think it is, then that's just heresay. I'll take your RO and raise you an SB. Apart from the 3 identified, we could all speculate and gossip as to whoelse was there.

Anyway time to move on me thinks. While it was a stupid incident by Goody, did it deserve the coverage it received. If anyone answers yes, than they have obviously never had a descent session with their mates.

All I have said is that if anyone thinks it would not get the coverage it got then they are kidding themselves. Players know that, so they should behave accordingly or else expect the consequences that will invariably come.
Making a mountain out of not much? Yeah definitely seems so. Is the mountain unexpected or unusual? No. I am sure the club will deal with it accordingly.

wrt the other bit, I have never commented on it and am not going to start now, but on another note google is a good search engine. ;)

Well it sure ain't Michelangelo, Cobra. He's the Chief Football Writer but he isn't the football editor. He doesn't have hire and fire powers and he doesn't dance his own dance at that paper. A better description of his activity would be that he's constantly jumping up and down in the air, avoiding bullets that are being shot at his feet.
John, I hate to break this to you .... but Michelangelo has relayed his (fictional) stories of woe to everyone who wants to listen - and plenty who don't.
He paints a picture of battling valiantly against the odds - fighting the good fight.
Michelangelo writes what he wants to write. Sure it may be edited to some degree. But to suggest he gets told what to write before it is written is totally incorrect.
Our dear Michelangelo portrays himself as a modern-day Jesus, suffering on the cross. Fact is he's just like everyone else - but he's too afraid to admit it.

Well I have finally done it - cancelled my subscription to the "Advertiser" tabliod - it has become more like an English tabliod.

I will tell what got my goat up - about 5-6 weeks the most important industrial relations reforms in over a century were passed thru the parliament and then their was the protest by the workers of Australia. This is an event that will impact on the lives of ordinary Australians and guess what page this story got - page 9, thats right page 9 and that was it for coverage. Yet a story on a supposedly drunken footballer (I don't condone any of what happened) got pages 1, 4, 5 and 6. Where the heck are our priorities

Yesterday was the final straw and I have done the only thing I'm capable of - withdrawing my financial support of this rag!

Nice conspiracy theory, but I don't think so!!
If you have people that are behaving so "out of control" and a "danger to the public" , as it was being insinuated in the article, you wouldn't be sending in reporters from the gossip section of your paper!
I don't condone Goodwin's behaviour ( Whatever the truth maybe), but people skylarking at end of year celebrations isn't new. IF this incident had happened during the times they are in preseaon training, playing the preseason competition, during the season proper or even on the end of season trip, THEN we would have had a story!!
There is no relevance to the Johncock incident to this story, so your attempt at attaching him to this is "weak".

My point was that people don't always tell the truth as in Johncock's case correct?
Now you have someone who witnessed what Goodwin has allegedly said and you are trying to rubbish her, how do you know she isn't an AFC supporter and was obviously shocked at the players behaviour.

The hush money was a joke as if the roles were reversed and Port players were involved that would've been one of your supporters first responses.
The only way that you could possibly know what happened was if this was caught on video camera and only then would you see what happened the rest is just allegations.

Do the AFC players have a problem in that they have no self control in their drinking habits as this is one of the many incidents that have been raised in the past few years.

I don't think you will get an argument from the majority os Crows supporters that Goodwin was in the wrong. But front page and 3 pages on this incident, c'mon Magoo it's a joke.

As for your final comment, are you being serious or is that comment a troll? I would say there's been a few ugly incidents involving the Power and alcohol over the last couple of the years too.

Similiar incidents would happen almost every Friday & Saturday between a few mates at a few pubs or clubs every week but because the people involved are high paid sportsmen that's why it got the 3 pages of well er um you can decide for yourself.

I was being semi serious about the alcohol problem at West lakes. You have had in the past few years Rockin Ronnie Burns car rolled over and he was drunk, Johncock allegedly drunk and smashes his car, now this sad incident which was blown out of proportion but still it's made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Not to mention a few times that i've personally seen some of the AFC players carrying on outside a few pubs/clubs at Glenelg. I'm not saying that our players don't do this sort of thing because more than likely they do but it's not reported as much maybe because our players don't do it as often. Hey i've seen a few of the Port boys having a few beers at the club and they were very well behaved, in fact one time Chocco was keeping an eye on them.

The AFL is supposed to have an alcohol/drug awareness course of which the message doesn't seem to be getting through to a lot of these AFL players as they continue to drink & drive which unfortunately will end up with someone being very seriously injured or killed and that is something i wouldn't like to see happen or read about. :thumbsd:

Will you Crows supporters ever admit one of your players did somthing wrong?

Guys like Darren SMith Scott Hodges David Brown and Brett Chalmers were always doing things wrong.;)

Goodwin was well out of order in my view. Very poor behaviour. So much for being professional and a role model.

One out of character incident does not diminish or destroy his status as a role model or a professional. It is merely a short dent in a stellar career, that would have blown over an hour after it occurred, had it not been for the crass reporting of The Ragvertiser.

Goodwin had a bad day, The Ragvertiser has had a bad 20 years.:)

off topic slightly

according to Port Supporters is does - Just ask Mark Bickley

its going to be interesting what their perspective of Pickett is going to be when he is smashing into their players

back on topic - the advertiser is crap - just thought I'd let everyone know :D
