Where did you hear this?

5AA

Simon Goodwin and an Advertiser photographer at 11am this morning.

Simply asked him to stop taking photos and shoved him against the wall. It was at a privet function.

Storm in a teacup and nothing in it.

Goodwin apparently

Just heard the end of it on 5AA something about staying out all night!

Wait Advertiser photographer held against the wall by Simon Goodwin, very out of character!

He has had to publicly apologize though.

I think Chris McDermott said he had been out since 5 30 pm the day before.

Sorry just found this thread, started one on AFL thread.

Sad day for Adelaide really. Following on from Johncock thing.

Just a further sign that AFL footballers - all of them - are getting too big for their corporately sponsored boots.

...
Certainly does.
In some ways this is worse than the other cases that crop up from time to time.
Those are about players being stupid in a way that many non players are. There are laws to deal with those incidents.

This one could be seen as being about players thinking they are to be treated differently because of who they are. Not good, no matter who they play for.

To make Goodwin lose it, I think that there maybe slightly more to it that we will hear about. Of course I am sure that some people will make up stuff to bignote themselves.

But the other night you argued that footballers are treated the same as you and I ( ie Johncock ). If that's the case, then shouldn't this be no different. If you or I were in a pub enjoying a few beers with mates and a photgrapher came in and started taking pics of us without our approval, what do you think would happen? A push up against the wall and told to **** off sounds like a pretty tame outcome to me.

As for the story, storm in a tea cup. I was sort of hoping it was a Crows player Vs M Rucci.

I guess he was been treated differently because who else would have photographers chasing after them? Not you or I, that's for sure.

Agree with that.

Hope he gave the photographer a good one!!!!!!!! Lucky it wasnt roo who pushed him. Wouldnt have got up

Same here.

Who gives a **********. Let the boys have a drink, to let their hair down FFS.
They get enough attention during the season, surely they can make fools of themselves once in a while.

Speaking from experience it is pretty easily done. Have a few beers, fall over, have a blew with the missus/photograper, go home, sleep it off. Game Over.

All in a days fun, I say.

I just hear the spokesman from the Advertiser carrying on about Goody's disgraceful assault on his squeaky clean photographer who was painted as holier than an altar boy.

His version was that they did nothing as they were outside the hotel - he didn't of course state that he would have been taking pics of the boys inside getting p*ssed at Xmas as we all do - but we don't get persecuted by the media.

As far as I am concerned Goody was out of line, but FFS, listening to this pompous self-righteous bastard nearly made me throw up. The fact that Goody has personally apologized to the reporter isn't good enough - this d*ck-head wants it in writing. He wouldn't publish that written apology though, would he?

I don't know who else heard this pompous prick on 5AA, but all I can say is that he irritated me beyond belief. I wish it had been him that Goody had shoved around.

Anyhow, Mr Holier than thou said it will all be in the Advertiser tomorrow - all the words, all the pics. The whole story. Woo fkg hoo!!

What a shame that the Advertiser couldn't expend as much energy ensuring that they published facts rather than the error riddled rubbish they consistently serve up.

macca23, I completely agree it was painful to listen to. He was constantly going on about his precious photographer and the one thing that annoyed me more than anything else was that he wouldn’t let Cornsey speak, kept interrupting him.

Agree Simon Goodwin was out of line and has to own up to his behaviour but the idiot from the advertiser has to accept that public people have a right to privacy
