you're in the middle of the worst dinner party...no-one is talking and its a real drag...what do you say to break the ice and get the conversation flowing?

eg..."i ****ed so-and-so's wife/husband"...and "threesome anyone?"

Went to a function once and the table i was on hardly knew each other.Talk was dying and no-one really seemed interested in each other. I thought this could be a dull night...
Then someone said to an older couple
'So its your 17th anniversary?
they said '18th actually'
And with the thought that this will kill the night completely or make it interesting i chipped in with
'18th wedding anniversary- i know first is paper 10th diamond i think- but 18th- is that oral?

There was a deathly silence for about 5 seconds and i thought ok i'm out of here,then they all broke up and the male half said i wish..
