Started on the bench, got tagged out of the game and just didn't have that good a game. Next week hopefully Ling doesn't tag him because I need him to get me some points. But I plan to keep him until at least the half way mark.

Yep, Brady Rawlings killed him. :D (about our only win on the ground).
The 11 touches he got showed what a dangerous player he can be though! :thumbsu:

I'm praying he picks up his game sometime soon. Would you say due to his poor performance against north that ling may instead get the job on McVeigh or watson?

I was wondering why when McVeigh was killing North that Rawlings wasn't moved to him, well thats what I was hoping that North would do. I think that Ling should start on McVeigh but knowing my SC luck he'll be standing right next to Stanton at the first bounce.

Mcveigh doesnt really start on the ball, i didnt see what position he was playing today, seemed to be a floating centre...
Watson, Stanton and 1 of a few others that rotate through + Hille are there main on-ball division, but i really cant see Ling taking Mcveigh over Stanton, however Linga did take Adam Simpson for a match last year, so possibly they might send Ling to the player in form(McVeigh) however id by 90% sure he will be lined up next to Stanton. :thumbsu:

But there are no certainty's in football!...

Except Geelong giving Essendon a reality check this week! :D:D:p

looks like stanton will drop in value after round 3. Can't see him making up for it against geelong if he only scored 44 against us, Although rawlings is one of the best in the business at what he does. But hopefully im wrong about stanton and he pulls up a big one!

i know its only round 1 but it looks like i could be right about stanton not being able to handle being tagged

I think his value was lowered further by the fract that Knights seemed to use the tag to take rawlings out of the game rather than just leave Stants in the middle and get him to try break it. He would have picked up more possies that way I expect, but Rawlings would have been more damaging too. Given that the other boys were doing the job in the middle I think Knights was happy to let Stants miss the action.

I expect he'll bounce back over the season and be good value, but to expect a big score against Geelong is silly.

You've got to be in it for the long haul though, trust in Stanton's quality!

if your after one player that will drop DRAMATICALLY it would be adcock after his score of 4

Bloody Stanton and Bird on the field... Bloody Geary and Lonergan on the bench!!

Damn that Lucas!!!

:D

Aw well, that's Supercoach for ya. And for my bench to score a grand total of 478 makes the sting hurt a little less... :)

Also, remember. The week that effects salary the *least* is week on.

It is only factored into ONE salary adjustment.

Walesy, your boy Stanton better lift this week. Which may be hard against Linga.

:) Here's hoping. :D He is quality though, I mean, last year, Brown opened his account with a 33. would have sucked to have him... til he followed it up with a 135...

He's a gun, and if the rest of the Bombers midfield can play like they did on the weekend, it's only a matter of time till he's killing it... :D

(Though damn, what was I thinking not grabbing Watson??? :D Him and Thornton were on my "shortlist")

I had Watson in half the time and Stanton in the other half, when it got to the end Stanton was there. That said I'm sticking with Stants. He's quality and will get big scores once he doesn't have the best taggers in the league on him.

Probably not a big one against Ling if that's how it goes as I expect him to be played similar to today (keeping the guy on him out of the action and trying to outrun him out wide). Ask how many North supporters how impressive Rawlings was against Essendon and you might find that Stanton's low score wasn't just due to him being towelled up.

Also, Telstra dome: Stanton's running is one of his big features. Once he gets on the bigger grounds he'll start to get bigger scores.

I'm in slight panic mode with both Stanton and Salopek underperforming straight up. Altough i definately understand that it is round 1 and won't be trading either this week.

i have brent stanton

im also serious about being among the top supercoaches aswell. meaning, if i know stanton will have a low scoring game against taggers then why keep him any longer?

would you rather trade him while he is still above 500k or wait til he drops to around 430k?

or

keep him and hope he fires up against ling and other tagers. he is vsing carlton in round 3, so he would probs score high in that. but is it worth waiting for when you can find another gun sc player instead?
