[sigh] not much luck peake... not much luck for us this season either it seems....Why was he playing today?
Mercury on DL has posted that ABC720 have reported that Webster was injured in today's match between EP and Peel.![]()

Why was he playing today?
Bloody good question !
I've no other option than to assume he was 'playing' within the Players Association guidelines.
If he is, then WTF ?
He should be one of the players getting psyched for the next 10 games.
I know .......yadayadayada he needed this and he needed that. Blsht.
I can't wait to read the clause/subclause/paragraph that allows him to play during the bye.
Considering he has played so little footy this year, I dont imagine it was that hard to get him to play.

If Connolly wasn't such a f****wit in giving Peake "2" quarters a game, he wouldn't have needed to play Wafl today!
Talk about under utilised!
Get over it. He needed a run. He's been injured or out of form all year. That's why I want to read the Association's 'conditions'.
Obviously he was only giving him that long because he didn't have the fitness to run out a whole game. The guy's just been out for 7 weeks and you expect him to come straight back in with no warm up matches and play full games?
The fact is he is not utilised correctly or enough. He may have been out for 7 weeks, but a bloke like Peakey doesn't lose his fitness...he's a natural runner.
Since he has been back in the team his form was far from good. He would have been a borderline selection from what I saw, and not having him on the ground may well have been because we needed someone in better form while Peake tried to find some. Playing in the WAFL was designed to do the same thing; get him in form. Certainly no relation between him not getting "enough" game time and him re-breaking the collar-bone.
