Michael Clarke runs out Brendan McCullum in the Chappell - Hadlee series in New Zealand in the final over.

Edit - cant find the video on Youtube, but Mick Lewis was bowling, and it was game 2, when New Zealand almost got over the line, but Mick Lewis bowled a fantastic final over, and go the final run out himself to win the game for Australia, after Brett Lee bowled the 2nd last over and it went for about 784 runs

And people say Mick Lewis is a hack, who can't bowl in One Dayers?

haha, 784.. isnt that when he hit a batsman with a full toss?

Mick Lewis holds the record for the most expensive over ever.

no ********, in a game that there was what? 900 runs? OKay, work it out, there was probably 10 or 11 bowlers in that match. thats 9 about runs per over all up, if he went for 11 RPO, woopdey ********ing doo!! Muttaiah Muriltharan went for 94 runs I think in an innings, and there was a whole damn thread on him being better than Shane Warne!

Yep, bowled a neck high beamer at McCullum, who played a fantastic "get out of the way or else it will hit me in the head" cut shot for 4 down past third man...

That was also the same over when Ponting only had 3 fielders inside the circle, and Lee was called for a no-ball after the ball had been bowled.

try these on for size...

all brilliant, either in their skill or their stupidity lol

Can't find a video of it, but one I witnessed live was Australia v India, WC92 @ the GABBA.

Australia made 237 from 50 overs, but a brief shower reduced India's target to 236 from 47 overs. India were 9/232, Srinath facing and requiring a 4 to win off the last ball, can't recall who was bowling (McDermott/Whitney/Hughes). Well Srinath smashed the last ball to mid wicket for what looked like a SIX, only for it to drop short and into the safe hands of Steve Waugh. WHO DROPPED IT! While this was happening, Srinath and Raju were running for their lives and had already run 2 and were coming back for the 3rd, in baseball parlance, the tying run.

Waugh threw the ball in to the keeper who brilliantly managed to run Raju out by millimetres, and we won by just the 1 run.

And who was Australia's keeper that day? None other than David Boon! :thumbsu:

Yep, he was sick of chasing the ball in the field, so he thought he would be the keeper, he didn't even bother to crouch before every ball, he said he would be too tired after a few overs...

Only kidding, but why was Boon keeping?

Healy had done a hammy in the previous match and maybe we didn't have a 2nd keeper in the WC squad.

Be pretty silly not taking a 2nd keeper (Especially to The World Cup)...

If it happened to Australia, we'd have it covered because Hussey is an able keeper who has done it before for WA, but, I would be very confident in saying Boony had never kept before that, and never did it after that (unless he did it again if Healy was not fit enough for the next few matches)

Yep very true... And the World Cup was in Australia, but apparently once they named the squad they couldn't make changes or something like that...

If i remember correctly Boonie had to keep for two games, one at the SCG and then the one at the Gabba that your talking about wehre he was involved in that run out...

Well, they've since changed that rule, a player in the squad can only be replaced if they are injured.

But like I said, Australia wont need to bother taking a specialist back up wicket keeper, because Hussey could do it.

Maybe was the rule then but they didn't want to replace healy when he was only going to be out for maybe a game or two and then they wouldn't be able to put him back into the squad.

That last one with about 27 seconds left in the video is p1ss funny - the third umpire was needed to see which batsman got their bat over the same crease first. :D

That wasn't the one where Chanderpaul was batting with somedbody? who spat the dummy and started walking and then the umpires decided Chanderpaul was out instead?

No we were batting, and going by the score graphic it was the 1997 South African tour.
