If Ball doesn't get up for this week (hopefully he is right to go), bring back Fiora. The man is all class and played decent in the Casey game on Sunday. I'd much rather see Fiora in the side than X.Clarke, at least he can be trusted to run and carry and hit a target at distance.

In: Ball (Fiora)
Out: Allen

Go Sainters, I can taste the celebratory beers on the last Saturday of September.:thumbsu:

Are you serious? Or is this just a ruse to fool Clarko? If it is a ruse, it's brilliant... he'll never see it coming.

Surely, you jest?

Clearly you didn't watch the casey game. I did

Did nothing, was soft, weak and useless. WON'T be coming back in, i give you Interpol's GUARANTEE

Did anyone see the incident after the siren? What a cat

Mods, please delete this thread!

defintly dont put firoa in put birss ahead of fiora and to add ball supposebly is set to play this week so fiora woodnt b required anyway.

I don't think fiora will ever play for St Kilda again, at least I hope not.

Birss is the man to come into the side (if no ball), I like the guy.

Awful feeling Birssy will again be overlooked. At the casey match X sat out the entire 4th qtr as did MG.

x was a lot better than Fiora yesterday, even Michael
Gardiner as another big man option would be a better than bringing Fiora in, but thats just my opinion

Has everyone forgotten X's capitulation against the Cats? Birss looked slow and that's at VFL standard. Fiora has pace and skill, Birss has skill but is slow and that was proven yesterday afternoon. Fiora is good overhead, Birss is not. It's about having someone in the team who will complement the better players if Ball is unavailable. We shouldn't be looking for a superstar because they both are certainly not that. Run and carry is the key and Birss will make us appear even slower than we are currently.

Would prefer Jack Steven than Fiora - based on nothing other than getting him experience and him hopefully having a brighter future than Fiora.

Else X. Regardless of capitulation may be hungry to do better.

And how did big Mac go Sunday? I'd prefer him forward than Gardiner. Great hands and nice kick. Love Gardiners anger though.

Ps please no Chucky G!

If we're replacing Allen, then surely somebody like M Gardiner or Ben McEvoy. If we want to have another midfielder, then Birss - dude, look at the stats from A2R: they're pretty striking. If Xav came in, I'd consider the likelihood of him playing like that again to be the same as it was that Roo would play against Collingwood like he did against the Cats - in other words, I think he'd do fine. Fiora has had chance after chance after chance after chance this year, and has almost always dissappointed his teammates, his coach, and "his" club's fans.

This must be a joke, Fiora is the softest player in the club, he fumbles and can't be trusted especially in a PF. Bring in Birss. Lets hope though Bally can get up and play this weekend. If not Birss is our man.

Go the Saints!!!

Yeah great idea genius! Let's blood the youngsters in the Prelim Final.;)

I was happy with the decision to bring in Fiora for the Rd 16 Hawthorn game. I thought that his speed and ability to to take high marks and score goals would help us against Hawthorn at the time.

Yet, he had only 16 disposals (most of them in the second half when we ran over the Hawks) with only 7 marks and no goals.

No, I don't think that he should come in should Ball still not be ready. I would prefer (in order) Birss, Charlie Gardiner or X Clarke. I don't think that a preliminary final would be the right time to bring in young players like Steven or McEvoy.

Jack Steven/Shane Birss for mine (if Ball isn't fit). Every time I look, they are both in the Casey best, and yet they spend time on the emergency list! Probably Birss though, based on experience.

Macca didn't have a great day, but it was a shocking day weather-wise.

Steven must be very close (notwithstanding the experience issue).

I am dreading that Chucky will be considered given it was Woody who won't play. He is just not going to do the job every week.

Birss was pretty good, although with Mini, Eddy, and CJ performing certain tasks I don't think the Saints want to play Birss as well.

X is a fav of mine, but would now prefer to set him for next year. Needs to build his fitness base. Some good touches though.

Gardi must be a show with the Hawks preference for two tap ruckmen.

Looking at the vision of Bally last week, some comments from a friend of a friend of a friend, and the coaches comments makes me think Ball is less than 50/50 this week.

Hahahaha - the bloke saying bring back Fiora sledges someone calling them a genius. Credibility police arrest this man!

I am sorry but if Jack Steven came in and had 5 touches like Fiora would then I'd be happier he got the experience rather than wasting a big game on someone who has proven time and time again he has no go in him.

Birss, then X then Steven for mine, then.... Chucky, then.......................................................... Fiora!

You dill. He doesn't have to have "go". He is what is called a "linkman", someone that is going to hit the target and has pace to be able to carry the footy up the wing or the corridor. It's a dumb idea to be campaigning for debutants in the Prelim Final. No Birss, we already have too many slow, in-and-under types.

By the way, Fiora was playing reasonable footy before he was suspended.

"Reasonable" is pretty darn kind. And even if it was true, not sure that's what we need now. Fact is, I thought the MRP saved Ross the trouble of having to drop him.
