Brock McLean

I think that we'd all probably accept McLean for Judd.

BUT

We're all probably very happy that we know it'd never get to that because the Eagles would rightfully never accept it and therefore there is no issue with McLean. As for pick 4 and McLean for Judd, I genuinly think that we'd be getting ripped off with that.

I don't really buy into the whole notion that everyone is up for grabs. There are some untouchable players on our list and I believe that is healthy for the club. McLean is definitely untouchable. If we're going to have any credibility in this football world, which we lack, we can't make ourselves common whores for other clubs to syphon good players.

If anything, it's a bit of a parallel to Carlton if you ask me. And that's quite disgusting!

From a Demon forum!!!

I have a good family friend who is on the Richmonds top caterie (if thats how you spell) group. He sits in on team meetings about the club, potential off-season moves, and contract decisions. He says Richmond are extremely keen on getting Mclean to the club, and they believe he wants to go there.

This came as a shock to me because I believed Brock loved our club to much, and I still think he does love us, and is grateful for his oppurtunities. However according to this family friend Brock has said a few times to his family that he would like to play for Richmond, being that his family ties are there with his uncle.

I am not 100% on this and while it may never ever happen, as I assume it won't, I will still prop up when I hear such an in formed Richmond man say the Tigers have been considering him since about round 12 this year.

I don't know if I would like the idea of Mclean being out of our club, but if we could somehow get draft pick number 2 for him, I would be very happy.

Now that McLean has been tossed up I think we only have ONE player left who has never been offered up: David Neitz. So I'll do the honours...

Neitz upset, wants out, over it, Collingwood already the front runners.

Fred Fanning to come out of retirement train with Melbourne then request a trade to Fitzroy.

Sounds like he's enjoying the end of year bash....I mean trip:p

Send him and pick 4 over to the West for Judd and we will call it even.

Eagles NOW have a very aggressive rehabilitation program for young lads getting into trouble. It involves Woosha and a piece of garden hose in a small room.

Not trolling, but strong rumours around that McLean wants out?

Is he out of contract this season?

also heard a rumour from trev that 5 players from richmond are getting delisted... initially they were planning to delist 8 but coburg wouldn't take em

Well, if they delist them then they would no longer be a part of the organisation and hence, Coburg would have no requirement to take them. However, its a nice bit of humour.

On the topic, I'm pretty sure Mclean will stay. He's touted as a future captain of the club and, to be honest, I'm pretty sure Melbourne would not even entertain the idea he's dispensible.

Out of the upper tier of players, I would say Green, Johnstone and maybe Sylvia could be possible trade bait.

Reported on 3AW:

Enquiries about brock mclean, demons saying “at this stage hes not on the table”

He is our future captain... and he should be no where near the table...

Personally i wouldn't trade him for Judd.

he's off to China with the Demons hierarchy, he ain't going anywhere

I love to hear that (even though we'd probably trade him for Judd if a direct offer was made). He's going to be the backbone of this club for the next 10+ years and I'm looking forward to it!

Demon back in Melbourne, but not for long

Melbourne midfielder Brock McLean is set to sign a new two year contract today, dispelling speculation he could be involved in a trade.

The Demons also are expected to appoint former Essendon defender and Western Bulldogs assistant coach Sean Wellman to their off-field team.

Onya Brocky, and congrats to Wellman on joining the Dees in 08:thumbsu:

Welcome to the new era!

Would've liked it to be a bit longer, but always good news when he signs on anyway.
