Yeah im still waiting for something like this, probably more unrealistic would be roberton and 37 for collingwoods 21. I'm pretty dissapointed in this trade as everyone else is. I guess when you have got a tight list as we do these days there has to be sacrifices. Broughts said he wanted to go so they helped him get to where he wanted to go. Thats the best way i can look at it although still dissapointed.Surely theres another trade to be revealed, Roberton and pick 37 for Richmond's pick 32?

Get over it ! Broughton was a crab, not in the best 22.
we are paying him a lot of coin next year when he is not going to play under Lyon.
pick 37 is the new pick 20 in this years draft....move on tree huggers.
Fremantle has traded Greg Broughton and pick 60 to Gold Coast in exchange for pick 37 (second round) in next month’s NAB AFL National Draft.
That just goes to show how much effort the journalists there are putting in. He was upgraded from the rookie list at pick 79 in 2009, but we drafted him at rookie pick 74 in 2008, which was the 152nd active pick in that draft.
Hopefully the journalist got more than that wrong and it's not pick 37.
How is he not in the best 22 after playing 68 games in 4 years?
I like how all season people on this board have been saying 'this player clearly doesn't fit in with Ross Lyon's defensiev game style' whenever someone gets dropped. But now, that excuse doesn't work because people actually liked Broughton.
Just because he has been best 22 in the past few years, it doesn't mean he was going to be best 22 next year. We did pretty well in the second half of this season without him. And now we've added Pearce, have the prospect of a returning Morabito and new kids earning their spots - Sheridan, Sutcliffe, Crozier. Maybe not direct swaps, but a shuffle could easily Greg missing out. Especially as Forster will be twice the player he ever was.
I thought he would be worth something closer to the #30 mark, but oh well. Tough calls have to be made, and I'm sure Ross didn't just do it on a whim.
that's wrong isn't it?"Broughton played 68 games for the Dockers since being chosen with pick No.79 in the 2009 national draft."
He is just a small defender (not like they don't exist on the list already)
.
What like Ibbotson, Duffield, Spurr...? Surely Broughton is better than all three of these players?
This and people all year saying that we need to get more KPP than flankers of which we have an abundance and we move one on to get a draft pick but that could get a decent KPP and everyone wants to keep the flankers now.
There have been decent KPP players selected around that mark such as Sam Reid for one and if we can get a player like Colledge for him its definitely a win.
I highly doubt salary cap has anything to do with it given the amount we had at the start of the year and heard rumblings from the start of the year that the coaching staff weren't a fan of Broughton's and the way he went about it.
