Must say, I was surprised that he was told, apparently fairly clearly, that he wouldn't be considered best 22 and wouldn't get many opportunities. I figured that he would have been fighting amongst a few for spots, and may even been in and out, but to be considered comfortably outside the 22 as a starting point ... clearly Lyon had made the call and didn't quite see him as well as many of us (me included) did. CLearly can't be skills and hardness as an issue, something else about working in the system which didn't seem to work for ROTB and there you go.

With that in mind, I'm glad we pulled the trigger. He has currency, we undersold in the scheme of things, but not massively and he gets a new gig at a club in a nice part of the country, good luck to him and good luck for us with pick 37.

and thus have to climb again such as many things he does on field, but that is one of the reasons we like him so much, it doesn't come easy to him and he keeps putting in

If Broughton was in the draft I would not blink about using a pick in the early 20's on him. I am of the view that Ross is concerned that we lack pace across the ground. It's a bit like when Brad Hardie said you can't play both the Carrs, Hasleby and Bell in the one team.

Yes, life goes on. I'm surprised you can decipher my freckle talk, given that I'm sitting on it most of the time.

What I was alluding to is that Moo's moral compass is a little better tuned than yours (and probably mine), possibly a result of the isolation.

But how about that Broughton guy? He's going to rip us a new one in round 6.

He was definitely worth a first rounder and I am inscensed, nay ENRAGED that Bondy sold us down the river again!!

HE WAS WORTH A FIRST ROUNDER, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE MARKET WAS WILLING TO PAY!!:mad:

Boughton will be a loss. Nice player and the payback could be bad if we dont kill the pig with his pick.

I still reckon we sold him for some stale magic beans and there'll be no golden goose either.
