Will this give opposition teams more motivation to beat us. Nothing wrong with what Brown said, but he probably should not have mentioned it to keep the attention off us.

Don't think what he said will cause us any grief. Simply that we needed to rise to another level if we wanted to remain a top 4 side and get a home final. Nothing wrong with a bit of optimism. When you tear collingwood a new ar$ehole in the space of 12 minutes I guess you could say whatever the hell you want????? :D

Best thing I've read today. Nice one. :D

This happens every year. Someone will say we are set for top 4 and then we drop.

Hopefully not this year :)
hehe yeh, i hope not either.
I live by "history is rubbish" - TW. The only thing that gets me to sleep, otherwise I'd be dredding Round 9 every year.

Brown will be one of the players responsible for getting us up there. Better a player saying it than some misguided fool of a coach

Probably playing mind games with Brisy. A lot of the younger Tiger players may look to the lions with awe. We have to convince them that there's nothing to fear there anymore. The Lions Older players have played their best games and their younger brigade have been thrown into the mix in a hurry.
We have to go to Brisbane thinking we can win - in years gone by I'd say a lot of teams went there knowing they were headed for a loss.
Wallace to Browny - "Pump up the tyres a bit"

Thats exactly how I read it. Wallace likes to make every game a big occassion and have both sides under pressure so that every game becomes a blockbuster. I dunno hios reasoning but certaining wont argue with the outcomes so far!

In the local Hobart comp they have a Lions vs Tigers game which is billed as "The Rumble in the Jungle". I am awaiting some media boofhead to get that ball rolling soon in a Richmond v Brisbane context hahaha

Couldnt agree more...having grown up a drop kick from the TCA in the 60s. Its sad all that Tiger history gone, particualrly for a club that sporned Ian Stewart, Paul Sproule, Alistair Lynch, Mathew Armstrong etc etc. Crying in my Horlicks..lmao

the reasoning is very sound Roo

To win a premiership you have to battle hardened . You have to be able to perform consistently on the biggest stage . You have to have self belief that you can beat anyone , anytime .

This is what this mindset is all about , talking up our games , getting the experience and self belief under the belt . Sure it didn`t come off against Geelong and St Kilda but this is only the very start of a long journey to get us to a flag and Terry is only just beginning to lay the foundations for that success , hence , talking up our games on a regular basis .

For the young blokes , in 5 years time , this sort of thing will ingrained , walking out week after week with the " match of the day " status and it won`t be a big deal , just run of the mill

Sage man our Terry

Which explains how "matter of fact" Deledio, Tambling and Meyer seemed to take Sunday's affair as I watched them in the warm-up cool as cucumbers. Christ I was more on edge than they looked! Method in the madness for sure mate!

Chris Johnson from Brisbane had a smart arse comment for us saying it's only round 9 what are they thinking.
Troy Simmonds last night said they would be the same if they were in our position
