It's the news Richmond fans have been waiting to hear since the end of May, 2005 - star forward Nathan Brown is finally back to full fitness.

The dual All-Australian, who was a shadow of his old self last season as he bravely battled back from the horrific broken leg he sustained in round 10 of the previous season, will play in the Tigers' full-scale intra-club match this Friday night ahead of the club's opening NAB Cup game the following weekend at Geelong.

After kicking 34 goals in the first ten rounds before breaking his leg in 2005, Brown managed just 11 goals from 10 games last season before a hamstring injury ended his season in round 17.

But that injury has proved a blessing in disguise with the Tigers vice-captain able to undertake a full pre-season heading into 2007.

"I am feeling pretty good, actually," Brown said.

"I finished up last year early, it was my first soft tissue injury but then I started my pre-season in August."

"I did a couple of months of training, then the club gave me a couple of weeks off and I have been training ever since."

Even more important than that solid fitness base is the fact Brown finally had the rod removed his broken leg after playing with it all last season.

"I had the rod out just before Christmas and there is no pain at all now so the leg is feeling good every training session," he said.

"I have done a lot of tackling and everything and played in all the practice matches we have played along the way."

"Now I am just looking forward to getting out there, we play a practice match this Friday amongst ourselves and then we are down at Geelong the following week."

Brown's return to full fitness gives the Tigers potentially one of the most potent forward lines in the AFL this season with the former Bulldog star to play in attack alongside the Tigers' 11 time leading goalkicker Matthew Richardson, former Geelong spearhead Kent Kingsley, the promising Jay Schulz and much-improved small forwards Kayne Pettifer and Andrew Krakouer.

"former geelong spearhead Kent Kingsley"
lol, still i think he sould go alright. I'd love him to kick 10 down there in the NAB cup just to shove it up those geelong ferals.

Pettifer and Krakouer will probably kick a lot of goals again this year, they are becoming very valuable forwards for us and if they both continue to improve then the Richo/Brown/Kingsley/Schulz rotation (Hughes and Riewoldt in coming years!) will give us the kind of goal kicking potency I've dreamt of for years :thumbsu:

Does Browny enjoy it in the pink or in the stink?
