To start in Brisbane with lots of floods - we take care of our own is my tip.
It will obviously get played, but don't see him opening with it based on setlists from the back end of the last tour.

Got a pit ticket for 3rd Sydney show.

Was a bit worried as took about 8 minutes after the 12noon opening before the system let you buy tickets and I thought maybe I had stuffed up.

I have no problem with him leaving Glory Days out. It's just his reason for doing so that I don't like. Just because a song charts doesn't make it a bad song. That's just a musical pretentious, "I'm better than the general public", attitude that I hate.
I didn't include it because, for me, musically, it doesn't grab me and leave a lasting impression. I didn't exclude it because it charted, it was because, in my opinion, he has written many better songs.

Lyrics wise it is actually quite good. Captures the whole lost youth thing, but manages to stay up beat.

I love it. Pity stevy won't be here to rock it out

While we're on the topic, what are some of the more popular songs that you guys don't really grab you?

For me Glory Days is up there, I don't hate it but don't love it, not really a fan. Cover Me never really did anything for me. I don't like Kitty's Back at all, Brilliant Disguise is so/so, not fantastic but I don't hate it. Much of The River has never made a last impression and I am not a fan of The Seeger Sessions era at all.

Anyway, over to you chaps, DrVanNostrand pjcrows jpkennedy UpForGrabs RussellEbertHandball NitroFan Gasometer JuddyBuddy Ford Fairlane The Old Dark Navy's

GTFO. I hope all of these are played.

Ties That Bind is horrible. I hate Better Days, which was a lead single so I guess that counts.

Glory Days and BD are decent without being great. I wouldn't mind hearing GD, BD I am not fussed over, and the other two I don't like.

Ties on the other hand ;)

Sorry it took so long to reply. I hit my head when I fell off my chair.

Can't believe that you love so much of his recent dreck yet the only thing in the past decade he's done that's decent (Seeger Sessions) doesn't grab you! That and your hatred of Kitty's Back and your meh-ness on The River. Well, I don't know what to say!!

I must now pummel you with the awesome Kitty's Back from 19/9/78

I hope your face was truly melted by that :)

Oo-oo-ooh she's alright, Kitty's alright :hearts:

Love that version - actually, I love that whole concert (which isn't a controversial thing to say).

If you guys get a concert that's 1/100th as great as that night when Bruce gets here then you're in for a treat.

It's honestly the best gig I've ever heard. Not just by Springsteen but by anyone at all. From the get-go the band are locked into each other, and I don't think there's a single flaw in the whole show. That 'Kitty's Back' came right after the intermission - and he finished the first set with the double of 'Meeting Across the River' into a note-perfect 'Jungleland'. And none of those were the highlight of the show (that honour goes to the absolutely mental 'Backstreets' that came later on).

If I had a time machine, going back to that night would be in the top 5 things I'd do.

I'm a fan of Glory Days. Would be in my top 15. Cover Me I also really like and Brilliant Disguise is also pretty good.

However, I don't have Jungleland in my top 10 whereas most have it in their top 3. The arrangement just doesn't stir me as much as a lot of other songs, as sacriligious as that may seem.

Jungleland's my #14.

Okay, then I will go further and concede it isn't in my top 20. Don't make me go to confession.

Having said that, watching live and listening to the Boss construct a story, I love every single damn lyric that comes out of his mouth. It's a religious experience and I will probably come home declaring Jungleland the greatest song of all time!

It is too folky for me. Just doesn't grab me. The Rising and Magic would be in his top 5 albums for me. The River is alright, but I dunno, I prefer many other albums ahead of it.

I didn't even watch the clip :P

That clip I posted above of acoustic Thunder Road from last year is pretty ace though.

Blasphemous! :P

Man - don't worry. I copped flack for Jungleland being so low.

But to each his own!
