Today Gibbs's performance almost over shadowed the disappointment of our 2 point loss. I'm sure he got Carlton supporters very excited.

Today assured me that once he pulls up his boots, he will go down as one of the greats of the game. Easily our BOG and did more then what he was asked to do. To have 26 touches and shut down Goodes is remarkable.

In his second season and just 19 years of age, fair to say he is having a stellar season averaging around 21 possessions a game. He has matured incredibly over the past season and is now consistently in our best.

Its been some time since we saw a player develop in front of our eyes into a star of the AFL, but it is assured that wait is over.

You're a genuine freak Gibbsy :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Agree with you Gibbs has come along quicker than Murphy either way we are going to be blessed with ELITE players and both have the potential to be brownlow medalist and future captains.

An absolute credit to Diesel and Craig Bradley, who from all reports have been working pretty closely with Gibbs.

And extended credit to Gibbs for being able to make full use of his sublime talents, by listening to, taking on board and utilizing what the coaches are teaching and asking of him.

It's almost as if he was thrown into the deep end of a pool at two years of age just to see how he would go.;) Amazing really.:)

I can't wait to see him in the midfield next season or even for the rest of the season. We are going to make finals next season that's for sure, all we have to do is cut out or stupid skill errors and decision making.

My mate said to me last year the gibbs was going to be the worst number 1 draft pick ever and i told him that he just needed time! Man he didn't need much time at all he is a gun! By the end of playing days i hope he gives a lot of credit to ratten because by ratten playing gibbs on all these guns, it is teaching him so much that when he plays as a pure midfilder no one will stop him!

Everything he does is sublime, smashed Goodes today and managed to get 28 very good possies!

Even talking on MMM after the game the kid sounded like he had the maturity of a 30yr old...

Absolute superstar:thumbsu:

Getting better with each game.

Is an absolute joy to watch. You know when he gets the ball, he is going to do something with it. Seems to have all the time in the world too.

He is my number 1 :thumbsu:

Great game by Gibbs, calm under pressure and his disposal is excellent. Also pleasing to read he has never even considered leaving the club after all the inuendo when drafted.:thumbsu:

What can you say ? Right now, he's pushing for a late run at the B & F ...
His improvement under Ratts and the new coaching team is futher proof how 'tainted' the old Pagan Regime was ...

The bloke, like Muphy, just has so much composure and never panics when he gets the pill, even under pressure, which is an very good sign ...

He thrashed Goodes today, a two-time brownlow medalist ...
The more I think about it, the more likely he'll be the next captain of the club, if there ever was a natural born leader, it's the Gibbster !!! :D :D

Absolute pleasure to watch - He's reminding me of a young Nathan Buckley, particularly now he's starting to strutt with a bit of confidence and belief that he's an A Grader.

I'm going to enjoy watching Judd, Gibba and Murph take us to Number 17 in the next few years!

i tell you what gave me the shits after the game and on triple m.
they were saying goodes was carrying an injury, bloody hell, give the kid credit.
he was best on ground for us, and absolutle killed goodesy.

what got me today was how he just smashed through those packs like a army tank!!

GIBBS=ABSOLUTE GUN!!!

Funny.........I was thinking, as Goodes dragged him deep into the forward pocket, that the grounding he had last year as a key defender would have given him a lot of confidence to cope with that ploy.......and what would you know.

Why do people insist on seeing the end product without acknowledging what steps were taken to get it there?

Can you be sure that Gibbs would be as confident in shutting down Cornes, Shaw, Goodes etc if it wasn't for his work last year?

Look at Cotchin, Palmer, Masten etc and see what you think of their defensive game (just a hint - Cotchin was on Grigg when Grigg goaled vs Tiges......20m on his own).

Anyway, enough about dealing with your cheap and pointless shots at Pagan.

Gibbs is flying up the list of talent in the league.

Being his buddy this year has been great, to watch in more detail how he is developing.....but to be honest I didn't thinki he would have the strength to play Goodes man on man.

I was wrong.

Any squibbs calls?

Sensational player and I'm very glad he is at our club.

Bryce Gibbs was nothing short of sensational yesterday. I have seen about 75% of all Adam Goodes games over his career and never has he been so convingly beaten.
If that was the first game of footy you ever saw you would struggle to believe Goodes has won two Charlies after seeing him dominated like that.

Cheers for a great match.
