They are going through a long rebuild of the list. Just need a few more years for Moore to hit his peak.

I say they give Bucks til the end of 2020 at least.

I might just be focusing too much on the misses though.

In general, everyone focusses too much on misses these days, with live coverage, endless camera angles, replays, analysis and discussion. Kicking at goal isn't any poorer now than in any other era.

As for Moore, I don't expect him to be the finished product yet in any aspect of his game, and he's being given more responsibility than he probably should at this stage. I'm more interested in what he will be during his prime (2021-2025, ages 25-29), where I think he'll be one of the better forwards in the league.

Hird, Voss and Buckley. All three coaches were beloved players from their clubs, all three had no where near the experience they needed to warrant a senior coaching position but all three got those positions because of how good they were as players, and yet all three have completely screwed up their clubs in different ways, 2 are gone, and the other will be gone shortly. Any AFL club that tries to hire a former legend of their club that had almost no coaching experience deserve whatever pain their club gets.
Add Kevin Bartlett to that list

Except he didn't coach Bombers
But still satisfies "were beloved players from their clubs, all three had no where near the experience they needed to warrant a senior coaching position but all three got those positions because of how good they were as players, and yet all three have completely screwed up their clubs in different ways".

Excepting of course it was done to a different club.

I'm a bit sick of this myth that Collingwood were or should have been still "on the up" towards the end of 2011. The 2011 PF was a pretty clear end-point to that era. Malthouse and the players had nothing left to give after that match. Go watch the last few minutes on YouTube, with Malthouse with tears in his eyes at the end. I for one went into watching the GF next week expecting to lose, and being ok with it.

I feel results would have been the same if Mick had stayed on, but he likely wouldn't have been as forward trading out and retiring "his boys", which would have seen us looking very middle-aged and mediocre list-wise going forward.

Mate, you have Swan saying they had players approaching the coach for another year and thinking about petitioning the club to get him another year.

Once those thoughts get in the heads of the players, knowing that a coach they love is going to be given the arse no matter what they think that is the end of the ball game.

Malthouse did not help things by stirring the pot himself toward the end of the season.

Set up a situation where a loved coach was being kicked out and someone not as liked was being installed. Club is completely fractured.

At least Bucks did an apprenticeship, even if it was at his old club. Hird and Voss just went straight in as head coach. Ridiculous, anyone could see that it wasn't a good idea. Maybe that's why Buckley has lasted slightly longer than the other two.

Then give him a mandate to do as he sees fit:

Trade Sidebottom for Waite
Bring Garry Ablett Snr out of retirement
Give Dale Thomas a godfather offer via free agency
Trade our number 1 pick for Jack Watts and Ben Kennedy
Introduce a club rule where the coach has to wear a different type of amusing hat in the coaches box each game.
Profit

Or because Eddie refuses to admit they ****ed up by appointing Bucks in the fashion that they did.

Bucks has taken Collingwood backwards every single year since he's been coach. The "we're going through a mini-rebuild" excuse might've worked for the first few years, but they now look like dropping spots on the ladder yet again this year. The call has to be made.

Collingwood were actually my smokie for bottom 4 at the start of the year. Their list is horribly unbalanced, with a fantastic midfield surrounded by average KPP stocks. Looking like a good tip so far.

He'll see out the year and pull the pin sometime before the end of the season

Eddie won't sack him, and Buckley will stick to his comments regarding having to make finals in 2017.

Pies will handle it without smoothly and without any bloodshed

Not sure I would have Roos in the calibre of Buckley, Hird and Voss (and Carey, Judd, Gablett, Cousins etc). Probably the rung below.

Every bit as good IMO. Roos was an absolute star. Hall of famer, 14 games for Victoria, 7 time AA. Had a real aura about him in his day.

Everytime I see Moore kick for goal this year it reminds me of Roughy about 7-8 years ago when he had the yips and was bereft of confidence. Kept leaning back into the kick and stabbing it rather than smashing through it. Could still hit a target 50 metres on the tit but when in front of goal something just goes into these young players heads.

I might just be focusing too much on the misses though.
Only thing that goes into Moores head are views of the mirror
