Should have been gone before this season. This will be the 4th year in a row now where the club has failed to make finals when making finals was the club's expectation. That's simply unacceptable in a results based industry. If he wasn't a legend of the club as a player, he wouldn't still be there as coach.

Hard to disagree with this analysis but still think the team's better than most 5-7 teams you'll see. GWS and Melbourne losses obviously could have gone either way. Kicked ourselves out of it more than anything against the Dogs, hard a lead we couldn't properly capitalize on against Richmond. Most teams could play this game but taking all these games individually we really aren't that far off being a 6-6 or 7-5 team at this stage.

Lots of 50/50 games for Collingwood in the back-end of the year. Individually I don't see a game we can't win (maybe Port at AO) but whether we can be consistent enough to go 7 from 10. Think we need to get to 8-8 to be a reasonable chance. Games coming up against Port (MCG), Hawthorn (MCG), Essendon (MCG) and GC (MO). Certainly not impossible to win 3 of those but certainly far from a lock.

Now 5-8, the way some Collingwood fans talk about their club they're the most unluckiest side in the league, but this side is the king of moral victories. Yes, it loses matches it should win if they kicked straight, but, like Richmond, its forwardline is crap meaning they don't get many chances to score, meaning when they do miss, it hurts. Both teams also don't have the attacking firepower to blow away teams, meaning a team is always a chance of coming back.

Their midfield is great, but a lot of their possessions are not overly damaging and their forward entries are often poor. I think they're probably about equal with most other 9-12th placed sides this year and in other years.

So...
Are our results because Buckley is a bad coach?
Or is it because the players are poor?

...And don't go back to referring to the 2010 team, because that is not the team he has anymore...

But isn't the point of this whole discussion that he dismantled the team when he took over, and has rebuilt it into ...what?

Surely the buck has to stop with Buckley!

Pun very much intended.

Clutch game coming up against the Power - who will be playing for league-wide recognition and a top four chance. We absolutely have to win that one.
You didn't even come close.

Yeah, I'm sure we're the first bottom ten side to ever suffer a five goal loss to a top four side. Better chase up the exit forms!

Just for the sake of some context, that 31 point loss was our heaviest defeat for the season.
So things are getting worse by the look of it

5-8 and plagued by the same issues as at the start of the season, never fired a shot. Given it's finals or bust for Bucks, it's bust. Logic of numbers.

Grundy, Howe, Dunny, Moore, Pendelbury, Trelola, Taylor Adams, SideARSE...

"Destination club".

And what have the got to show for it right now? One big bag of **** ALL.

Looking forward to seeing Buckley-man in the media. He's not cut out for this coaching caper, clearly.

He should have played Reid forward from the start, and shouldn't have played Langdon on Robbie Grey, shouldn't have played Langdon at all in fact.

You do realize we had about the same amount of players with little experience. In saying that it's ridiculous to use the game as evidence of anything another goal to you guys and Goodwins under pressure and buckleys a hero
Did Melbourne achieve something while I wasn't looking?

If the Pies make the 8 (or even run it close, with a good percentage and competitive results), provided his heart is still in it as well, I think a two year extension to see how far he can take his group of players would be fair.
No. Even if pies miss the finals on %, Buckley walks. Held Mick to his word, he must keep his. Gentleman's agreements are everything down at the Holden centre.

Buckley will sign any paper the club offers him, and I think they will offer him a new deal. I have absolutely no confidence in my team whatsoever to do something logical and correct. He's the worst coach in club history, even worse than Tony Shaw.

Bucks is good for the AFL, always has been, but why so rusted on to one club, should have gone to north, widen his experience, pies would always have been waiting for his return.

Totally agree but according to his post-game press conference, he still thinks we can make the finals yhis year. I am not sure what he is on but it must be pretty good. I expect a 10 goal defeat against the Hawks next week. So at least I am a pragmatist.
