Seriously... I have my doubts, we keep hearing nothing's wrong. Behind the scenes, Nathan may not be as confident about it as we'd like to think. He hasn't played a game this year. Until he does though, I don't think he knows his hamsting will get through the demands of an AFL game. I would like to know the truth and nothing but the truth.

Should I be concerned about his short-term future? Your thoughts

Yes! As i have said numerous times, i believe Buckley has a sciatic nerve problem which usually takes a very long time to cure. Most of the time doctors dont know where the nerve is irritated/pinched so the healing process is left to chance, strategic physio and stretching therapies. His hamstring problems are a cause of this, time being against him i dont know if he'll make it.

Just my thoughts but am pretty sure.

Heard him on his weekly chat to NOVA this morning, he was discussing Hird's planned retirement. Bucks said that it was good that he got to make the choice to retire. It seemed to suggest that he, himself, may not be getting to make that choice. That was my immediate thought. Obviously he didn't SAY specifically that he might have to retire but it was clear what he implied.

WTF are you about, if he had sciatica he would know all about it. The pain related is much worse than just hamstring pain. He has had chronic hamstring soreness through his last few years however got through last season no problem. Im positive that if anyone can get back Nathan can.

Have a mate whose family is very involved with the AFL and collingwood, and has been for many years, who he assures me that bucks will be playing in '08. I'm aware this is heresay, but would back this bloke in any day in regards to inside info at the pies.

This comment is, primarily, in regards to his mindset, but this is inevitably linked to his injury and its prognosis going forward.

Cheers.

Ive got plenty of room down the back padock, I could put him down humanely next to all the other old animals that have gone lame!

ha ha oh man you so funny great joke now piss off Bucks is no laughing matter

I have no doubts that Buckley will play again, if he takes it easy until finals I rekon he could be back for them

I'd love to see Bucks play his 300th in the 2008 Grand Final!

Now that would really be something!

Yeah... I know.... but wishful thinking never hurt anyone

Cheers,

You can't handle the truth!!!

Seriously though, I think it's like you say, he just doesn't know himself.
