Edwards stepped right out in front of a freight train moving at full speed and the predictable happened. He got run over. Buddy needed to take notes on Pendlebury'stextbook perfect attack on the footy from Friday night and Edwards should think about protecting himself before stepping in front of any more trains!!Couldn't stop his momentum or change direction at that speed and braced for contact late. Not a sniping act by any means (if there was intent behind it Edwards would literally be dead) but the height difference and subsequent head contact means he has to go. 2 weeks is my tip.
Once again people are judging Buddy's actions on slow motion replays, at normal speed he has to make a split second decision to try and grab the ball or bump the player to clear a path for either him or a teammate to collect the ball. Either way he had momentum and a collision between him and Edwards was inevitable, unfortunately with the height difference he made high contact with Edwards but if Edwards is going to be stupid enough to stand there unprotected in Buddy's path he has to expect to get cleaned up by a bigger opponent travelling at speed.
There was no intent from Buddy to hurt Edwards he was just playing the game in a physical manner and was a little clumsy but the way the AFL has become so soft these days he will probably have to cop a week or two.
If it was me deciding on this incident he'd be allowed to play next week, rubbing a guy out for just being physical and making accidental head high contact like that is killing the game. I don't get why people, commentators included, are so keen to see players suspended, especially a superstar like Buddy who makes the game entertaining to watch. Having a player like him sitting on the sidelines for a couple of weeks doesn't do the game any good.
I would rather see players suspended for the rubbish going on between Rance and Franklin before the bounce than for Buddy's contact on Edwards. Footy without collisions is just not footy and at full pace you can not always control the impact.Once again people are judging Buddy's actions on slow motion replays, at normal speed he has to make a split second decision to try and grab the ball or bump the player to clear a path for either him or a teammate to collect the ball. So much meltIt was Rance's knee to Buddy's ribs that was the real cheap shot.

minimum 4 weeks. Intentional, high impact, potential to cause harm, head involved.
