Intentional punch to the groin is classed as "rough play" yet a bump gone awry is "striking"

It is the HEAD that is sacrosanct. Nuts are fair game it seems - as Mitch would testicle, er, sorry, testify.

Agree with you guys. His priors were for the most part were just terrible rulings by the match review panel. The cousins hit is something that was a regular thing when I was growing up, a good solid hit which had the desired effect and resulted in a goal for us. The umpire even called play on which to me showed that the AFL and the umpires were on different levels in regard to the removal of the bump.

The aker one was soft as butter. Aker recently played in a country footy match and was having a massive sook because he got buried into the turf by a strong tackle. Stayed on the ground for a min or two sooking away.

So now that Buddy has 50% loading (?) if he even thinks about getting in the way of someone he's gone for a week.

Buddy accepts week

Another poor decision by the legal eagles at Hawthorn.

Worth a fight for 'negligent' vs 'reckless' and 'negligible impact' vs 'low impact'.

Of course I haven't seen the medical report, but believed nothing came of it.

agreed, one they actually had a good chance of winning (compared to the Cousins one).

I agree that the club may be happy to let Buddy rest for a week. I look back a couple of weeks to see what Rioli did in the game against Freo and feel pretty comfortable that he will step up to the plate again.

I think he should challenge it.

I had a look at the replay the other day and just before Buddy clipped Weller Ladson tacked him and he fell down low. Had Weller have maintained his from Ladson's tackle stance Buddy's arm - not necessarily even his elbow would have hit Weller's shoulder.

I am not so sure that Buddy had the opportunity to tackle instead of bump looking at the way it unfolded. Split second stuff and Buddy is so much taller than most of his opponents.

If he does not risk a greater suspension it is worth challenging. :thumbsu:
