Recommitted Buku Khamis [FA 2026] - requested a trade to Carlton, didn't get there

I'd very much prefer the club to keep him. I'd be saying sorry Buku but you're contracted and most certainly required on list next year. We're very thin at both ends after losing Jones & JUH.

Forwards - Darcy, Naughton & Croft
Backs - Lobb, JOD, Busslinger & Gardner

It's easy to see us with some very serious issue if we end up with a long term injury or two to the headline players. Buku has done an admirable job at covering both ends of the ground and would be more valuable than a late second/early third.

Thats ok - we give McGovern a one year contract. No loss to us - probably a blessing.

What happened to the reasonable dogs supporters?

Can't believe these nuffies seriously believe they're getting a first rounder for Buku.
Fun time of the year on Bigfooty when everyone overrates a player at there club

I haven’t seen anyone suggest he’s worth that straight up, just as part of a pick swap of your 22 and our 33. The difference between them is equivalent to pick 36 in points, which is relevant to Carlton.

I like Buku. Mostly because my son and I like screaming "Buku!" at the top of our lungs whenever he does something.

Blues need lots of things everywhere, so I guess he's almost another Brodie Kemp? Flexible, good size, athletic, not-quite-good-enough? Theoretically still young enough to have best footy ahead...

Buku likely to stay.

TLDR from Regan’s interview - Dogs will require a good pick and will only let him go if we increase our KPD depth.

Good lord - anyone would think Khamis is the next Khaming.

Maybe he should just stay & we’ll keep pick 72.

I’ve always loved a long shot.

I see jiath as best 22 at the blues. Same as buku. And i can see a backline with them both in it. Sending 22+54 and getting jiath and 31 back could unlock the buku trade sending 31 to the dogs.
The charlie trade should give us enough points for dean and ison. Could find a way of trading one of the early picks we get (from Sydney or the tdk pick )for multiple later picks.

STALEMATE IN BUKU TALKS

CARLTON has tabled a future third-round pick to the Western Bulldogs for Buku Khamis, but there remains a gap in valuations over the contracted defender.

The Dogs have been unmoved by the Blues' current bid for Khamis after it was put forward across the weekend, having tried to extend the 25-year-old's contract at the Mission Whitten Oval midway through the season.

Instead, the Dogs have discussed pick slides in either this or next year's draft to form the basis of any Khamis deal, but no compromise has yet been reached as negotiations continue to be locked at a standstill.

Carlton had initially offered pick No.41 for Khamis, but took that deal off the table last Friday and instead sent the selection to West Coast to unlock a move for Campbell Chesser.

The Dogs also completed a pick swap with the Giants across the weekend, moving back from No.12 to No.14 to also gain the No.37 selection which they plan to send to Gold Coast for Connor Budarick.
