Bumper Cranbourne Cup

Great field for a provincial cup. Brave Chief at the top of the weights, Hail who came third in the Kelt Capital Stakes behind a couple of good ones on 57.5kg, poor old Kaapstad Way, Yammer, The Big Ask, Eagle Rhythm. Very tidy.

From a form perspective, you'd expect Brave Chief to lead fairly comfortably, and with the genius P Payne aboard, he will take a lot of catching. Hail's form is exemplary for this class, while I finally got impressed by a run of Rum - he was scooting home out wide on an unsuitable tight track over this trip last time, and he might run into a place at generous odds here (although with 1 win from 31 starts, you're entitled to be sceptical).

Hail to beat Brave Chief, Rum third.

Apparently Spirit of Westbury pulled up sore.
Sure raced liked it,under pressure a long way out.

What a ride on the winner,went forward,took the sit,leaders back,reminded me of the trots except he had to push out without the cheat lane.

Strange decision not to go to Caulfield,probably had a fluking chance at odds.

Liked Hail's run,wide,battled on fantastic.
