Well done Power on a great win today against the odds and against the side sitting second on the ladder.

Great Pressure goal by Burgoyne.

Just think. If he had have kicked out on the full (aka Stephen Kernahan) Port would still be inline for priority draft picks as 5 and a half wins is the cut off point (1 quarter wins for the season)

Now they have 6.5 wins, they are now ineligable for priorities.

A good, gutsy win, that in the long run, may prove costly to the club.

Port have always played against the odds for 130 years....Yes they could have easily have dropped this one for priority picks...The club plays to win, for pride, but most of all for its members !!!!!!!!!!

I thought I'd read somewhere that when they got to 5.5 wins (by thrashing the Dogs) that they'd missed out on a priority draft pick - ie you get a priority pick if you win LESS than 25% of your games.

Not that that sort of thinking would be entertained at Port Adelaide anyway.

I know 5.5 wins is exactly one-quarter of the season. However, for the purpose of priority draft picks, the cut-off is winning LESS than 25% of your matches.

Wayne Jackson said a few weeks ago that Port were ineligible for a concession draft pick. Mark Williams said something to the effect of not minding because winning is more important than playing for draft picks.

With the position of my team, this is one issue that I have been following quite closely.

I think Port's after the siren win and Freo's one point win ended the most amazing round of football this year. Sadly, the one constant was another thumping to St Kilda.
