You want arguably the best player ever and who did not leave the Roos because of money issues.

Start again with a more reasonable offer ... or he can go into the draft (Negotation 404 (Honours Level)).

yeh i have but it just sounded weird the way you wrote it....

Doesn't matter. If we can't do a deal Carey will have the choice of going to a club we do make a deal with (ie Hawthorn) going into the draft and getting picked up by whoever (ie St Kilda, Richmond) or retire. Simple as that, and I would be more than happy for the club to get nothing for him rather than be ripped off.

I think as supporters our expectation are higher than what the Clubs are.

The deal will be made I think.

Whether either clubs supporters agree with the price is another matter entirely.

You have been going on with this Nathan Lonie thing for a while now, and I seriuosly cannot understand it. Unles the deal also involves us getting Shane Crawford, Nathan Thompson, Jon Hay or Luke Hodge, i would never consider trading Wayne Carey or nathan lonie. I think that the guy is a dud. I think a lot of Hawthorn people think he is a dud. Not half as good as his brother, and his brother isn't even that good!!!
You seem to have an obsession with him, and that can come about for various reasons, but i for one do not want him near the club unless it involves trading some one like cochrane or clayton for him.....

Ok then i shall ease off a bit, but he is just a personal favourite player of mine, just one of those things i guess. I see him differently in terms of being a dud, but that's just my opinion and i also respect yours, each to their own. It is a possibility that a change in clubs can make players better, look at Peter Bell.

I was actually thinking of a three way trade invovling us (with Carey and others Rawlings and Clayton), the Crows and the Hawks. I know the Hawks need a ruckman (eg Marsh) and a midfielder (KJohnson?, Rawlings, Clayton etc) to counter the loss of Rehn and Chick, so i am sure a decent 'pretend' draft can be drawn up.

As for the Carey trade, I would be demanding a top five (MINIMUM) draft pick plus a a young player off their list. Anything less, why bother? Straight into the draft for you son. Enjoy Optus Oval or Moorabbin. Hope you find a tennent for that house you buy in Adelaide.

He must of checked out some of the players wives on his last trip and thought "these b****** are so ugly I can't possibly make the same mistake again" as "I don't have any attraction to drooling troglodytes with heads like a smashed crabs, that think a moccachino is something wear on your feet".

He will be of some value to your team, but remember he is use to getting things his own way and will not accept anyone else stealing the limelight. The guys at North were use to his antics (and have flourished in his absense) but I wonder how that will be accepted in a new environment. How many Kings can one castle have???
