Roast Buying decent tickets at the MCG?

How do you buy decent seats at the MCG?
I wanted to buy tickets to the Richmond v Adelaide match at the MCG (Round 16, 2025). I am a Victorian Crows member, with a valid barcode, so I went on Ticketek to get a decent seat. Tier 2 on the wing, I hoped. Comfortable, near a bar, not too difficult to get in or out.
Anyway, Ticketek offered me the Crows bay behind the goals.
Not what really wanted, so I tried dropping my membership, and just trying to buy a seat. Apparently, there were none available. I could get GA, or a few Tier 1 bays near the goals. Nothing on the wings seemed available. I thought it must be sold out or something.
But when Sunday came, the ground was 3/4 empty! Crowd of 23K!
What was I doing wrong? How do you get a decent seat? Can anyone explain all the greyed out bays on the Ticketek site? I can understand if the ground is full, but nearly every seat was empty.

For Premium level 2 seating, one wing is for MCC members and Richmond reserved seat Members. The Other is for AFL members/Medallion Club members.

It's not 1975 anymore, unfortunately. You can't just roll up to the MCG as an opposition member and expect a level 2 seat on the wing.
As the Richmond fan points out, those seats are booked out by MCC, AFL and home teams members.
( I agree with your point about all the empty good seats, it's one of the many problems with Marvel stadium)
