Redbacks have included Cameron Borgas (who takes the captaincy from Jake Brown), Kane Richardson, Peter George and Patrick Connelly to the team that capitulated against the Blues seconds. Out go Davey, Skewes, Sayers and Donnelly

The ACT won this fixture last year (in Canberra) but have lost a few to the states with first class teams in the off season, including Swards (Qld), Crosthwaite (NSW rookie contract), Rogers (Tas rookie contract) and Bulger (NSW). They've been replaced mostly by members of the under 19 squad who finished 2nd at last year's national championships.

SA XII: James Smith, Tom Cooper, *Cameron Borgas, Andy Delmont, Mark Cosgrove, Jake Brown, Dan Christian, +Patrick Connelly, Cullen Bailey, Kane Richardson, Jake Haberfield, Peter George

ACT XII: Jono Dean, John Nicoll, Tom Thornton, *Mark Higgs, Ashton May, +Ryan Carters, Will Sheridan, Adam Ritchard, Nathan Lyon, Jason Behrendorff, B Davies, P Callaghan

SA won the toss and saw both openers heard the death rattle by ball 8, but the skipper and Andy Delmont are starting to show signs of putting together something that vaguely resembles the possibility of maybe a half decent partnership. It's 2/71 after being 2/6.

Scores here

Four half centuries to Redbacks in 25 minutes. Delmont brought up his with a six 5 minutes after Harris had got his, which was 5 minutes after Klinger had got his. Delmont then hogged the strike for 15 minutes leaving Borgas stuck in the 40s before he brought his up with a boundary too

At lunch SA 2/134. Delmont 65, Borgas 57

Delmont out for 80 for the second game in a row.

Borgas has gone on with it, he's unbeaten on 140. Cosgrove within a couple of hits of a ton, and the way he's playing he could get there in a couple of hits. His last 47 runs have come off 28 balls after taking 41 off the first 67.

3/330

Borgas plays on to everyone's favourite spud. Cossie then stops and plays out 9 dots before a single to take him to 99, and a 4 off the first ball of the next over to go to 103 from 116. 12 fours, 3 sixes. That almost sounds like intelligent cricket from a Redbacks batsman . Meanwhile the new ball is taken and Christian gets off the mark with a boundary

4/351

and now Christian's out for that boundary

5/351

386/9 at Stumps.

not a bad start to the game. that little collapse towards the end should never happen. they're not bad batsman either: Brown, Connelly, Bailey. All can bat: it just shouldn't happen.

Well done to Borgas and Cossie: certainly looking the goods at this stage of the season.

well the ACT were bowled out for 111 in only 37 Overs.
Kane Richardson took 4/21 and Peter George 2/12.

ACT were then asked to follow on for their 2nd dig - in real trouble at 0/1 when Dean was dismissed. The innings has steadied a little since then and they are now 140/3. Nicoll has now got 61 and is batting quite well it would seem. Jake Haberfield has 2/33 and Jake Brown being the other wicket-taker has 1/24

SA now lead by 135 runs.

Comets eventually bowled out, after some farcical bowling changes, for 416 in the last over of the extra half hour before lunch. SA will have a chase of 142 for victory, which I'm sure they will make harder than it should be.

#10 Lyon finished unbeaten on 66, Haberfield 4 wickets, Bailey 3
