Wood has a good 3 years yet until he should be in his prime and dominating games.

If he can break even in most have a very good couple and only gets belted by the top liner then he is doing well.
In the mean time he has to contribute more heartily around the ground and learn from Jolly.

Does help now that Wood Actually has a Ruckman to learn off in Jolly.

At Brisbane he had Charman and Keating.

So with Jolly there I reckon he will come along very well

I'm encouraged by his size. I was thinking he might be heading down the Fraser path and never bulk up. Don't expect huge things from him this year - expect maybe 10-12 games with various levels of performance. I am confident we have a decent ruckman for the future though.

There was nothing wrong with Charman and Keating.
Wood is a year older though. Ruckman don't really hit their straps until they have some real experience and some physical endurance and power.

Was great to see at times during the intra-club Jolly would have a few words to him, giving some pointers. Competing daily with one of the premiere ruckman in the comp can only help.

Agree. With Jolly for the younger rucks including Wood, Ball for the midfielders and Bucks for everyone, the Pies really have added some serious guiding lights and inspirational leaders to their young, talented set-up.
Not sure how much input Max Hudsgen ( sorry, ?spelling)has had yet, but if significant, he'll be also brilliant for likes of Harry, Toovey, Brown ,Reid etc

I imagine when Bucks takes over he will be keen to entice Burnsy to come home , now that would be a dream come true .
Regarding Cam Wood , i think few people on here are selling him short . He is a very decent tap ruckman , all he needs is to show more aggression , Jolly will teach him that

Love to see Burns back at the Lexus centre. What role do you see Gavin Brown playing in the coaching mix?

Hmmm good question , forward coach ? Rowdy was pretty handy at applying forward pressure .
