Reckon North should get rid of him. Demands 'success' but then coasts along in third gear and seemingly does nothing to actually impose himself on the contest.

He should be at least a very good inside bull, at best he could/should be an elite midfielder. Instead he's still floating around the HFF getting 10 touches a game (presumably because he hasn't put the effort in to develop the endurance/fitness for a full-time mid).

Don't think North's kids need that kind of attitude stinking it up from a 'senior' player.

Any idea what his combine efforts were? Can he gut run?

That sort of sounds like DeGoey or Stringer or even Rohan ... Guys who can give you five minutes that break a game..but sometimes go totally of the map and unseen. If he could be a powerful mid then several teams should be allover him..but could he. Maybe he just doesn't have the ability to run whats required these days .

I see him as very much like Stringer in the sense that if he had 100% busted his guts and wanted it badly enough, he could have become a top-tier mid. But for whatever reason just didn't seem to quite want it enough.

Look at our own GAJ. He could have been an excellent Stringer type "bob up for a few moments of magic, and win the odd game off his own boot" HFF by coasting at 80% his whole career. But he wanted something more and made the effort to achieve it.

It's becoming more fashionable week by week.

Except any chance of that died by 2020 when we are debt free. Woops matey, forgot about that one too eyy?

Oh yeah Arden precint development is about 7 bn, but more realistically 20 bn and we are at its centre so yeah man, getting more fashionable each week and why some of the inner city big clubs want us gone.

But guess what, the off field team is probably a bit more competent than the onfield one so laughing back at those little peaheart mommy's boys.

Doesn’t look like he wants to be there.

I reckon he goes but can’t see him getting success and anything close to band 1.

He’s a 600k player tops IMO

It's the IMO part that kills it.

We will put him in a position he can't say no and the other clubs must match or exceed to get him.

Our offer to him will get us band 1 level no doubt about that.

Unless of course he is stupid enough to leave on lower offer then that's his problem.

600k, sure mate

So why do nth get so much extra money?

Guess what, we got abilities that other dont'

If its normal business, those big clubs cheating salary caps with 3rd party deals would've been caught out and fined until they are bankrupt long ago so there ya go matey.

So what are Nths abilities that no one else has got?
Well, we already know it's not a carpark, players don't get those at Arden St.

Also, North would be batshit crazy to offer Zurhaar money enough for band 1. No other club would consider offering that.

It'd be utterly hilarious for him to be the highest player in the comp.

AFL should simply revoke their licence if they even remotely consider it.

Nah guess what matey that ain’t it that’s not what it’s about it’s about the Arden street $95B global super mega hub IVF clinic that is pumping out sires from the semen of Boomer Harvey, Wayne Carey and Liam Anthony mate. We got the abilities to farm talent now matey and you’re all paying for it.

Pretty bizarre post, can’t post an opinion on a forum? Lol ok

He has said he wants success. the point was he won’t get both that and the money to trigger band 1 IMO. On what metric is Cam Zurhaar Band 1? Cant see any list in the game that would be desperate enough for his services to pay him that much.

I suppose you can pay him what you want out of spite, Norths current list management strategies are working wonders for you after all.

Guess what, nobody gives a damn about your truth. We are going to bottom until afl gets us up the ladder and all the other clubs are going to pay for us. You better pray we get up soon.

Oh just in case you wanna use the merge/fold/relocate line that's like 10 years out of date, i got one word for you...Arden.

The knives are out with a 19th team on the horizon. Other clubs wont allow the AFL to forever keep propping up North until they finally improve.

If by 2028 North havent shown progress then they will be shut down.

The AFL doesnt want a bye. Nor can afford a 20th team.

The writting is on the wall here.

We can do without this thanks, particularly in a thread about Cameron Zurhaar.

Feel free to take the baseless hypotheticals elsewhere.

Eddie McGuire reported and discussed in the last two days and other media outlets followed.

Not baseless.

Not a hypothetical.

Its real. Interstate club Presidents and now some Vic based clubs are stepping their dissaproval of how the AFL is managing this space.

The other poster thinks North will be supported forever until they improve. That is not the case. As Fitzroy found out.

Will find and attach a link to the article I read.

Yeah, both of these are hypotheticals and they are baseless.

And they do not belong in this thread. Thanks.

Couldn't agree with Edward more, get some of the big v team's playing there.

He also suggested the AFL should end the Kangaroos’ agreement with Tasmania to play more exciting fixtures in the state before the Devils’ introduction.

Just 5365 fans showed up to Bellerive Oval for the winless Roos’ 57-point loss to Adelaide, similar to last year’s crowds of 4378 (vs Gold Coast), 5025 (vs GWS) and 6310 (vs Port Adelaide).

Does a path exist for someone to drastically overpay this guy so North can get pick 2 as compensation on the idea that North trade with that team to bring in a experienced player and give up pick 1. So for example

Pick 2 + Karl Amon for Pick 1 + 2nd rounder

Hawks give Zurhaar 5 year 5 mill deal

North have pick 2, 3 and Amon
Hawks have Pick 1, 2nd rounder and Zurhaar
No chance AFL let that slide

The chances are to get Band 1 this year and beyond the offer would have to be around the $900k range
If north do offer that there is no club that will match or even get close to that and will eventuate Mr Zurhaar getting paid $900k a year probably for 4 years at North melbourne

Thats going to make future contract negotiations for the likes of Sheezel , wardlaw .Mckercher , Duursman very very interesting

Firstly, we already offered zurhaar 5 year and prob at band 1 price. If no one matches, then the ball is in his hand to leave on lower wage. It's his risk to take.

Secondly, You do realize that sheezel is already contracted until 2030, so 7 years away.

Wardlaw mcker duursman have not produced anything anywhere near what sheezal has produced.

We have plenty of money for the aforementioned names mate, esp if we contract the majority front loaded.
