Yes, I know I look like an idiot...but I still stand by what I’ve said...we will end up winning games second half of the season and limp to 10th-12th...wasted season and chance to get games into younger players.

‘I honestly can’t make a case for any other current hawks player to come in. They needed some run and got it. One of our rucks needs to be more of a forward marking presence but it’s not happening that much.

I honestly thought your first post was brilliant predictive sarcasm. You should have left it at that

Another absolutely PATHETIC performance...

Classic Clarko this week...thinks our season was still alive so brings in ceglar and O’Brien.

Today was our strongest team on paper all season. Only missing henderson, who’s finished.

Surely. Just surely how arrogant and naive supporters can now finally admit we are cooked!!!

Wait for the “this season means nothing anyway” excuses...

Most deluded supporters in the league still living off our three-pear half a decade ago.

Are you still pretending?

You mean like hawthorn did, 2005 rather dubious late season loss to Richmond....

Do Hawthorn seriously think their flag sides weren’t built upon a core of great draftees? Top 15 picks: Hodge, Buddy, Roughead, Lewis, Burchill, Rioli

Because they had these pillars (plus Mitchell pick 35) they were able to bring in a support cast in.

Richmond and West coast both have a core of players formed by top 20 picks.

Not every club who hits the draft hard is successful, but every club that is successful does have picks in the top 20 they have actually used and helped form a core of a side.

In saying all this hawks have done good inclusions this week and wouldn’t be surprised if they turn it on against us.

Doesn’t change the fact that their trajectory is downwards though.

is that statement utter crap? Were 3 wins behind the next on the ladder, and 5 behind richmond. If anthing they were ‘playing the kids’ No Mitchell, but thurgood was brave

A glimpse today of the blueprint all the armchair experts think Hawthorn would be best off following. Dive to the bottom, collect draft picks for years in the hope it allows us to bounce back up the ladder at some difficult to predict moment in the future. In the mean time, entrench a culture of losing because picks are more important than wins. End result is a mentally fragile team with losing deeply ingrained in their DNA. Why would we want to follow Carlton and Melbourne's model? It seems to suck. Yes, you need an elite core, but there is no logical reason why you can't trade it in.

Youre a caricature of a Geelong supporter.

Just change your profile already.

Not many Bombers supporters around here ...

Hard waste collection in my area recently. Saw a few piles of Essendon merchandise dumped on the nature strip. Nothing from Hawthorn - not even anything signed by Don Scott to be found. Drug cheating scandal really ripped the heart out of some of their supporters it seems. Each week when we lose, the survivors from the 'saga' can be seen lurching into this thread like a drunk and disoriented Kevin Sheedy. Next hard waste collection, I'll try to rescue some of the red and black merchandise, seems there are some needy folks in this thread - will wait until our next loss to reach out to them, unlikely to see many this week.
